Aimed at being a Cobra for the 90’s the Viper first appeared as a concept car at the 1989 North American International Motor Show in Detroit.
The Viper was the star of the show as every one took a fancy to the all new American sports car.

After the show Chrysler was hassled by the public as they wondered when they were going to bring the Viper out. Chrysler had to think about building this all new American sports car. It did not take long as the letters just kept pouring in from the public. This car could be classed as a life saver for Chrysler as this was the start of a new era for them and brought Chrysler out of debt.
