MEMBERSHIP
Mencap West Lancs has a system of 'Family Membership in operation. For the payment of a subscription fee of £5 per year, every member of a family living at the same address becomes a member. The fee is deliberately kept low to encourage people to join.
We also have individual membership and group membership. The former is often used by individual people with a learning disability who seek to have membership in their own right. Several groups have also joined to receive our monthly newsletter called 'THE NAG'. This keeps them in touch with what is happening and is a "thoroughly good read". (See "What we do" for more details).
Some individuals, families and groups who are members live outside West Lancashire. Some are a considerable distance away but are supporters of our work.
Our Management Committee has men and women from many walks of life, including retired Senior Managers. It also includes people with a learning disability. We would like to encourage 'younger' families to join and take an active part in our future.
