Foreword

Mencap West Lancs have run a database for people with learning disabilities for the last seven years, orginally this covered West Lancashire. It is called the South Lancashire Learning Disabilities Database (SLLDD). Since the beginning of the year 2000 Chorley have worked together with West Lancs and the Database now covers Chorley, South Ribble and West Lancashire. It gives information about where people are living. People get the chance to let us know what services they need and help shape the services available to them. New services could be provided to meet these new challenges.

Introduction

The aim of the SLLDD is to to contact all people with learning disabilities so that services can be planned around what people want. The details given to the database belong to the person that has given the information and will not be shared with anyone else without their permission.

What we would like to know is more about you and your services so we can help you and add to our knowledge.

What We Already Know

The SLLDD can tell us how many people there are living in South Lancashire with Learning Disabilities

From information already received we can make charts, a few of which appear on the following pages.
