The area is perhaps best known for it's consistent wind system which attracts windsurfers and kitesurfers from all over Europe. Pirlanta Beach is an excellent kitesurfing spot and Alacati Bay is popular for both windsurfing and kitesurfing.
Alacati Bay provides a number of surf centres that will hire equipment for windsurfing and kitesurfing. There are also several bars from which to buy food and drink.
