Belinda Carlisle was the lead singer of the all female group, the Go-Go's. When they split up, Belinda started on a solo career. Her first album peaked at 13 in America, and the first single reached 3. When she moved to MCA, and signed with that bearded bloke's Virgin label in England ,she released 'Heaven is a Place on Earth' This reached No.1 in England, and set the formula that would be used for many more successful albums. As Virgin's 'Best of Belinda' is labelled Volume 1, I expect there will be more to follow.

From Best of Belinda

And here it is. After 'Best of Belinda' she has released two albums ( In UK at least) Real, a less image engineered album, both in music, and jacket style. This included the hummable 'Big scary Animal', and along with 'Lay down your arms', form the two single releases in UK. Following after a gap (due to reforming the Go-Go's) is 'A woman and a man' which proves the old format still works.
