Sheryl Crow was born into a musical family, her father, played trumpet (as he does on 'We do what we can'), her mother sang and played piano. She studies music theory and voice at the university of Missouri. After graduationg in 1984, she moved to St. Louis, where she taught elementary school music for two years. She worked on jingles for a commercial producer. After gate-crashing an invitation only audition for Michael Jackson's 1988 world tour, she got the job, and for 18 months dueted with Jackson on 'I can't stop loving you.' She continued to sing as back up to other artists, when Crow joined a group of musicians meeting on a Tuesday, who in a very loose atmosphere, composed a few songs, becoming 'Tuesday night music club.' After a couple of years and a small image change later, the self titled 'Sheryl Crow' arrived, and is just brilliant. Look, just go and buy it.
