FIVE THINGS WE CAN DO NOW WHICH WE COULDN'T DO BEFORE

1. We can sing "It's magic, you know - ninety six years in a row" if we are ever confronted by Hibbys again, and we can pour scorn on their rendition of "36 years in a row" - it's meaningless.

2. We can now legitimately "discard" the Coca Cola Cup as being a lesser tournament, conveniently cancelling out the recent efforts of Hibs and Raith Rovers (unless we win it, of course!)

3. We can now analyse Hibs record in the Scottish Cup and ram it down their throats.

a) TEN finals, TWO wins (1887 and 1902)
b) Beaten by Hearts, Airdrie, Celtic (3 times), Aberdeen, Clyde and Rangers

4. Despite what seems like a shocking recent Cup record, we can boast that in a country where the Old Firm have won 57 of 112 finals played, our cup final record is played twelve, won six which is the same ratio as Aberdeen (played 14 won 7).

5. Finally, we can truthfully describe ourselves as the third force in Scottish football once more. Having got the monkey off our back by winning the first for a while, we can target Aberdeen's haul and leave hibs standing. For the record...
