...Online...
Well I signed of this page last season by writing "I just have a wee sneaking fealing though that we might see the trophy that we all crave so much come to Tynie in May, I am sure I speak for all of you here when I say that it doesn't matter if it's the league championship or the Scottish Cup, just please let one of them be paraded down Gorgie Road." Well our dreams became a reality on May 16th 1998 when the Scottish Cup final made its way back to Tynie and as you will probably have guessed most of the postings on both the Official Hearts website and our No Idle Talk...Online... website have been related to the cup win.
After the final we were inundated with emailed requests to pass on messages of congratulations to everyone at Tynie. The number of messages got so great that we opened a guestbook so that Jambos from all over the world could leave a message of thanks and congratulations. This guestbook was closed in July and it ended up with several hundreds messages from all corners of the globe including Japan, America, Canada, New Zealand, Austrailia and even, believe it or not, Leith!! After the guestbook was closed it was printed off and sent to the players at Tynecaslte so that they could read all of our messages.
To be honest there is not a lot else Hearts related stuff happening on the net at present. The main theme on the Hearts fans message forum, Kickback II, has been to do with the organisation, or should I write disorganisation, of the season tickets and applications for other tickets. Most people seem to feel that the presentation of the season ticket in the flimsy plastic wallet, the delay in getting them distributed and the fact that we were charged for the Coventry game all adds up to a very poor service and we are getting charged even more money for the privilege. You have to wonder if this time next year we will be looking at a £400 season ticket. You may think this is unlikely but then again who would have thought we would have had the rise in price that we have suffered this year?
The other reoccurring message on the Kickback forum is to do with the new fangled phone system that they have now installed. Its apparently is very modern etc etc etc but the one main problem with it is that no one bothers to pick up the phone when you call. I think that it would probably be easier and quicker to escape from Saughton Jail than it would be to get your call answered at Tynecastle.
Is it really too much to ask for, for Hearts to get someone to sit and answer the telephone when it rings, after all they are taking all of this extra money from us for our season tickets, even having the audacity to add 40p on top of the face value as an administration charge. What the hell is that for?
Then again I couldn't really care because as the song goes "We won the cup and the Hibs went down DOO DAH!"
