APRIL 1998

Thursday 30th April

The gaffer and Peter Huston were in France looking for new players so Billy was in charge of training this morning and all we done was a zone game in which my team won comfortably.

Tuesday 28th April

Well you would have thought it was pre-season in the way we trained this morning run, run, run.Thats all you can say about that!!

Monday 27th April

Training was put back until 1pm as some of us went to the PFA do to see wee Gaz Collect his young player of the year. WELL DONE!!!!!!!!.
Robbo and I left Glasgow at around 10 am and I was suffering from a major hangover, stopped at Mcdonalds which helped a little but as for training I was a shivering wreck every time I headered the ball I thought my head was going to explode.Serves me right.

Sunday 26th April

Well the gaffer was true to his word we were all in at 10am on Sunday morning. We thought we were going to get a session but he just had a long talk before sending us on our way..

Friday 24 th April

Old versus young again this morning and what a roasting we got.It was all down to me and Cahlky who adopted striker roles in the absence of Hammy(what a laugh!!!!!!!!)Missing open goals, headers missing the target from 3 yards. So we were the ones who came in for a bit of stick. The reserves won 2-0 yesterday with Hammy and Jose scoring. On to Jose, the boys who were involved yesterday refused to give Jose a mark out 10 he was that bad.0.6 from Robbie Horn was the best he recieved, when asked about his performence"the park very bumpy"was his reply. As for a mark out of 10 for himself he replied"maybe 1or2".So hopefully if involved on Saturday he can perform better than that.
Rangers on Saturday will provide a very difficult game and one we must win in order to get back to the old routine. No wins in 4 league games has all but ended our league campaign but a bit of pride is at stake.

Friday 17th april

Back to the old versus the young and we decided that we would let them win today as we have beaten them before the previous two games and failed to win so heres hoping that they'll be in a better mood for the game tommorrow and get back to winning ways.It didn't help us with Hammy's performence this morning and the shout was "its a pity he's no suspened tommorrow" that came from the management.
On to tommorrow and its a game we must win.3 points is vital and then we hope that the other results take care of themselves.

Thursday 16th April

The gaffer needs arthimatic lessons as we were cheated in training this morning,no sour grapes, but our team were destroying the bib team when the Jet who was referee miscounted the number of passes that the bib team had completed.1..2..3..4..5..8, When I was at school 6 and 7 came before 8.After that were our heads went down and were beaten..

Tuesday 14th April

Today we were promised no running but it was a lie.Ballwork with plenty disguised running the boys were nackered.
In the afternoon we all went go karting once again but it wasn't as good this time(maybe thats got something to do with that I didn't win and only Jose saved me from total humilation by coming last!!!!).It was a great laugh especially the wee Angolian who was hopeless but still managed to get in all the photos which the press used as the winner (don't know how he does it).Neil McCann was the overall winner-WELL DONE TERRY!!!!!!!!
Back to wee Jose who is now supporting a new hair cut and in all fairness its very smart apart from the new dredlocks that have been added as they are tiny compared to his actual hair.

Monday 13 th April

"BLEW IT".Well there is not much that can be said about Saturday,Hibs were the hungrier team which was dissapointing cosidereing the situation we were in but the result on Sunday gave us a little hope again.
Didn't get a chance to drown my sorrows on Saturday so made up for it on Sunday and paid for it on Monday at training but in saying that I was our teams top man(scoring goals for fun I was!!!!!!!!) All the boys were down because we knew that if we had Won our 2 previous games we would be top of the league!!!!

Friday 10 th April

Managed into training today and felt alot better. All the boys were buzzing, which was nice to see.
The young boys took the scalp of the old boys again in training which was nice.
On to tommorrow "Derby Day",Personally I think it is a massive game for both sets of players, clubs and supporters as it could go along way to making or breaking either teams season.Well we have a full squad to pick from so its up to the gaffer to decide if myself and Colin Cameron come back in so I'll just have to wait and see.
We must win tommorrow to keep our championship dreams alive. FINGERS CROSSED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday 9th April

A full day in bed.Read all the reports and the press were having a field day.Our so called bubble has burst!!!!!!!!!WE'LL SEE

Wednesday 8th April

Well what a day,it started bad at got worse.Woke up in the morning feeling a bit unwell and as the day went on got gradually worse forcing me out of the game at night. That was dissapointing but I really thought we would have won so I didn't want to risk causing a goal or the game not being 100% fit,so the manager made the decision to play Slim.As for the result it now makes it an uphill struggle but until it is mathamatically immpossible we will be still fighting to the end.

Tuesday 7th April

Well the young boys actually managed a victory this morning, and not before time either. It was the usual game before a match day but Davie Weir says it doesn't count as it is not Friday(sorry!!!).
Not much happening at the moment gossip wise so todays piece is rather short.
On to the game tommorrow and we all know now that we must win all our remaining fixtures to have a chance in the league which I think we are capable off.Motherwell will be difficult to beat tommorrow as they will have something to prove as we have beaten them quite comfortably in past games. So I hope you all remain very supportive, no matter if we aren't playing well as the result is the most important thing from now until the end of the season.

speak to you soon

Monday 6th April

Well another cup final to look forward to but only just.Got to give credit to Falkirk on Saturday as they done really well but at the end of the day we scored more goals than them so were in the final.I bet you are all glad especially the way we played which was dissapointing to say the least. We only really played for the first 5 mins and the last 4 mins but we done enough. On a personal front I came away from Ibrox with 3 stitches a blackeye and stud marks all over my chest. It looked like I had been mauled by one off Joses lions..
Well as you noticed in the press before the weekend while we were away we were woken by a fire alarm at the unearthly hour of 1 am.The main culprut was Stevie Fulton for obivious reasons but he categorically denied the charges.(I reserve my judgement on that....) The card school was good effect at Cameron House and yours truly came away with most of the cash but I cant disclose the figure as my fiancee often reads the pages.
There was a rumour on Friday that the Spice Girls were staying at Cameron House but these were found to be untrue(PITY!!!!!!!!!!). Jose was supporting the most outragous tracksuit this morning. This little (and was even to small for him)black and silver number by Dolce and Gabbana was the worst piece of clothing he has wore and he has had some rascals.
Back to the newspapaers and on Friday morning I was surprised and a bit annoyed to read about my so called assault charges and breach of the piece. This incident has been blown out of proportion and now I will just have to wait until May to plead my innocence. But the boys have been having a laugh at my expense,(so lads I glad it is amusing to you all)
