Hazel (Corylus avellana)
Shrub up to 6m tall, bark red-brown, peeling. Leaves oval to rounded, with a small point, toothed edges, downy. Male flowers pale yellow catkins, female bud-like with bright red bristles; January-March, before leaves. Fruit a nut in a leafy husk.

Only one found so far - in far meadow.
