emPOWER is a charities consortium of 35 groups whose members use Prosthetics (artificial limbs), Orthotics (calipers etc), Wheelchairs and Electronic assistive technology. emPOWER campaigns for a 'national look' based on individual needs and maintains website pages giving details of each of its member groups which include the Limbless Association, Age Concern, Scope and the Spinal Injuries Association. Disability Awareness in Action (DAA) co-ordinates UK Disability Awareness Day each year in early December as part of their work to protect disabled people's human rights worldwide.
