Welcome to our web page. Before I share the history
and vision of the church let me introduce myself and my family.
My name is David Andrew Corke. I have been married to Carol
Corke since 1978. We have two children born October 1983; yes they
are twins! A boy and a girl (non-identical they assure me!).

Carol and I hail from Failsworth (motto: True Worth Never Fails)
near Manchester. Evangel church is our home church where , as children,
we found Jesus Christ to be our own personal saviour. I was baptised
in water at the age of 14; Carol was 12. We were both baptised in
the Holy Spirit in 1973. This transformed our lives. Since then
we have been non-violent revolutionaries for Jesus.
I felt the 'Call of God' in 1974 and by 1975 I was training 'full-time'
under my pastor and mentor Alan Hewitt, now pastor of Newton A.O.G.
(Assemblies Of God). He is also on
the national superintendency team.
In 1977 I took up the pastorate of the Hadfield A.O.G. in the Peak
District and of course in 1978 I was joined by my wife Carol. We
saw the church grow from 23 to 40 in 4 years and I was given 'full'
ministerial status by A.O.G. During this time. In 1981 we were asked
to lead the Cadishead A.O.G. church which then had 17 people. God
blessed us there also and when we left 80 people attended on Sundays.
We then spend a brief spell helping David Benson establish a pioneer
church in Leigh before responding to the call of God to Rochdale.
So in 1990 we took up the pastorate of Hebron Pentecostal Church.
We have seen some increase and though the church has experienced
both ups and downs we believe it has a special role to play as part
of the body of Christ in Rochdale and district.
We hope to be in the vanguard of what God is doing in these days
and pray passionately to a move of God in revival power. We believe
that God is not willing that any should perish but that all should
come to repentance: 'Rochdale Shall Be Saved'
We have a fine and growing team of believers who are seeking to
support and serve one another and the community, welcoming new people
to the church every week.
