GLASGOW CITY HELIPORT Glasgow City Heliport is a small helicopter operating base owned and run by Bond Helicopters. It is situated in the grounds of the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) which in turn is less than a mile to the centre of the city. Bond Helicopters typically have two or three helicopters based at the heliport in different guises. The Strathclyde Police Airborne Surveillance Unit is based here as is one of the Scottish Ambulance Service aircraft. There are many internet sites devoted to various airports around the country - including the official sites - but browsing around, I noticed that there was little or no mention of this great wee place.
