Shaft stamped R Forgan & Son St Andrews with replacement sheepskin grip. A beautiful

 

 

club from one of the foremost and prolific clubmakers of his time. Late 19th century.

 

 

 

Forgan was clubmaker to the Prince of Wales (Prince Edward) - hence the Prince's plume

 

 

cleekmark. When the Prince became King Edward in 1901 Forgan then adopted the "Crown"

Anderson was known as a producer of quality golf clubs.

 

 

 

 

 

This club is stamped with the "double circle" cleekmark with the words "Anderson Anstruther".

 

 

The club also bears the retailers stamp "Goudie & Co, Edinburgh".

 

 

 

 

Probably dates from around the turn of the century. Nice collectible club.

 

 

 

 

Has the description "Con Iron" stamped on the toe. Shaft clearly stamped "J & A Simpson,

 

 

Makers, Edinburgh".

of a "rifle" cleekmark with block lettered Montrose within a oval. Good leather grip.
