Arthurs Pond
one of several ponds found on the common. Thousands of years ago the River Thames flowed where Mitcham Common is now and as the flow of the river gradually altered it left behind beds of gravel, which were later quarried. Some of the ponds on the Common are the remmnants of these gravel quarries.
Bidders Pond
the Common is part of Mitcham's more rural face, away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre.
