What to do,
PLEASE Read These Instructions Thoroughly!
Trust me, this is really much more straight forward than the following instructions make it sound.
Just complete the Application Form, to include the title of your site; the address/URL of the site; the WebMasters name (you?!); your email address; a password; some keywords relating to the site and a brief description (Please limit this to 30 words!). If you are submitting more than one site, then you will have to complete the application form the relevant number of times ....
This will place you in the queue to join the Ring. You will then be automatically emailed (within minutes!) advising you that you have joined the queue for the Ring and telling you your site number (See “CAUTION” below).
All you then have to do is copy the Wiltshire Ring fragment of HTML in the window below and paste it into your main page. This merely acts as the link to/from other Wiltshire Ring sites and the master Ring site. If you look at the very bottom of the home page you will see what it should look like on your page (...with minimal formatting!)
The Graphic "webring.gif" which you should include, is at the bottom of the HomePage and at the top of the Menu strip. (Thanks to Rob Dickens for the design). If you are using Win95/98, simply right click on the graphic then save it to the same directory on your hard disk as the HTML file. When you upload your files to your ISP, “webring.gif” should also be in your remote site folder together with your HTML files.
CAUTION : The question mark in the code appearing after "wiltring&id=" should be replaced with the individual site id number that is advised to you when your site joins the queue. If you do not do this the linking will simply not work!
Once you have the fragment and graphic in place send me an email. I will then check the site and make sure that the code is in your main page and functioning correctly.
There are times that I am away for a couple of days, so do not despair if I do not respond immediately to your email........
