Tommy Cooper was one of the funniest human beings ever to live, here are a selection of his jokes. I was watching him the night he died. When he collapsed on stage I thought it was a joke (as I think did a lot of people), especially when they closed the curtains and his feet were still sticking out. I think he would have thought it was funny too.

My parents went to see him perform live. They said to start the show all of the house lights were turned off, he walked on stage and just did his funny laugh. Everyone in the audience fell about laughing.

This list was sent to me by Tony because one of my sisters is a psychiatric nurse (therefore Tony can ignore the workING entry in the ING mission statement). People think I need a psychiatric nurse of my own. I suppose to some extent this is mocking the afflicted, but I think we are all afflicted in some way and I also think it is good to be able to laugh at yourself so in a sense I'm just laughing at myself OK?

Often when working I get quite fed up (don't we all), when this happens my friends come to my rescue with funny emails. Here are a selection: this one is a list of phrases (I especially like the flypaper one.) Here is a little game you can play in your office, I'm not sure about the scoring system, but even imagining doing some of these will cheer you up.

I hate meetings: they are so dull. Here are some suggestions for you to liven up your meetings. I was fortunate enough to be able to have team meetings with like minded individuals. These were interesting because we used to have them in odd places: we had one in the lift, one on the rooftop (point 1 on the agenda was to kill one of the attendees and he still came out onto the roof, that's trust, or stupidity) and one under the meeting table in the real meeting room.

This is a new one in from the Egg King (thanks matey), if you've had any dealings with lawyers this might appeal to you.

Now if like me you are a big fan of cartoons, one of my favourites was The Trapdoor. This centred around Berk the unfortunate plasticine servant of him upstairs. Follow this link to find out more about this wonderful bit of animation.

My Dad used to work on a building site and I used to go to work with him during the school holidays. He used to sing a couple of songs that were popular about then. They were sung by Bernard Cribbins and their material involved building sites, here is a link to a site with the lyrics.

Finally my favourite the famous family fortunes answers (back into flergle mode).

I'm not sure where these emails came from, but if you were involved in putting them together: thank you for making my working day just that little less dull.
