News
No news is good news...
Well, the live appearance on Isles FM on the 9th went really well. We did a half hour slot (playing totally live) where we did 5 songs; Amazing Things, Waiting For You, Wildflower, Hold and Coming Beauty. The whole thing went really well, we felt. Our thanks go out to Calum MacDonald for inviting us onto his show and to those who were listening, especially Stevie for calling in with a request! Snippets from the show may be posted as mp3s in the near future, so keep checking out the sounds page.
We now have some fairly exciting news to report. After a long quiet spell, Canvas are about to make some noise! At the moment it is looking very likely that recording for our first album will be starting in the early part of October at the studio of our friends Noel and Donald Eadie. At the time of writing (10th Sept.) the studio will be ready to go in about a fortnight. We are still deciding on which tracks to put on the album, but it looks like all of those on the sounds page will be on there, amongst others.
The acoustic gig with Fields of Harvest later this month in Stornoway is now a definate event. It'll be on the evening of Friday the 22nd September, so keep that evening free! It will be in Martin's Memorial Hall in Stornoway (time TBA) and will be raising money for a nurse who's going out to a medical centre in Malaysia to train people, so come along and help a good cause.
Also, we've been invited to play the following night in the same venue, so if you miss Friday, you've got no excuse. The Saturday gig will also be with Fields of Harvest. See you there!
You may have noticed that we have some photos on the site. Go and have a look.
Also, our dear friends from Crimson have given us a link on their excellent page. Have a look at their site and listen to some of their tunes. Fine stuff!
Of course, we couldn't have a set of links without including Fields of Harvest . Well, we could, but they'd get upset. Go on. Admire Callum's handiwork!
