This morning, Beckham did two hours of intense training in the heat including running and kicking the ball with his previously injured left foot.

Only yesterday, Eriksson had to dismiss some reports claiming that he was thinking of sending Beckham home due to his foot injury.

In a press conference today, Eriksson said that "he did a session this morning, everything - free kicks, corners, shooting, running" and that this afternoon or tomorrow he will join in full training with the rest of the England squad. Eriksson went on to say that hopefully there will not be a reaction after this full training session and that "we think he will be alright for Sweden".

Nicky Butt has also been given clearance to play against Sweden which now only leaves Kieron Dyer fighting to get fit for England's first World Cup match against Sweden.
