The last few months has seen the gold price rising and even more interest in collecting and investing in coins.

All the staff at Imperial Coins have been delighted in continuing friendships with collectors as well as making new acquaintances.

A Wonderful Selection of British Half Sovereigns

The gold Half sovereign with a value of ten shillings was first struck in 1817. They were made of 22ct gold and weigh very nearly 4 grams. We have managed to build up a little group of these illusive coins, all in above average condition. It may be some time before we can offer these again so its well worth adding them to your collection now..

British Hammered Gold Coin

British Hammered gold coins are one of the most popular issues with collectors worldwide cherished for their rarity and beauty. Here at Imperial coins we are constantly trying to obtain these coins for our ever-increasing number of discerning collectors. 

The Gold Unite

The Unite with a value of 201- was struck during the reign of James I and Charles I. It was called a unite because of the reverse legend, FACIAM EOS IN GENTEM UNAM, "I will make them one nation". This refers to the unison of England and Scotland.

The Gold Angel

The Gold Angel with a value of six shillings and eight pence was struck in late medieval and Tudor times. The obverse shows St. Michael killing the dragon and the reverse a ship. Please phone for details of stock.

The Silver Coinage of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee 1887

In 1887 at the height of the British Empire. Queen Victoria celebrated fifty years on the throne. The whole Empire celebrated and the Royal Mint commemorated the event with a new coinage, The Jubilee Issue. The silver coinage consisted of the Crown, Double Florin (issued for 4 years only) halfcrown, florin, shilling, sixpence and threepence, all struck in sterling silver.
Some of these coins were put away at the time as souvenirs. Now over a hundred years later Imperial coins can offer these coins all in wonderful condition individually or as a striking set.

Queen Elizabeth II 50th Anniversary of Her Coronation

Elizabeth II was crowned Queen in Westminster Abbey on the 2nd June 1953. Fifty years later the nation rejoiced, gave thanks and celebrated during her Golden Jubilee year.
In 1953 to celebrate her coronation the Royal Mint struck a proof and uncirculated set. These sets contain the crown, halfcrown, florin, English and Scottish shilling, sixpence, threepence, penny, halfpenny and farthing. Now fifty years later these sets have become scarce and desirable and we only have a few available.

These sets are slightly toned and the cases suffer from slight foxing due to their age.

European Gold Coins
Coins of the Emperor Napoleon

There can be few Europeans as famous as the French Emperor and General Napoleon. He was eventually defeated by the British General Wellington at Waterloo in 1815 but just before his defeat and exile, France struck these wonderful twenty franc coins. They are slightly smaller than a sovereign and are struck in .900 gold and show the portrait of Napoleon on the reverse. An inexpensive historic coin for your collection.

Magnificent Mint Condition 10 Gilders from the Netherlands

Ten Dutch Guilder £109.50

In the nineteenth century the Netherlands was famous for it's Windmills, Tulips and Artists. The beauty of this country is reflected in these gem mint ten gilders all in flawless condition which obviously come from a small hoard put away at the time. They are struck in .900 gold and weigh a little less than a sovereign. Once this little group has gone they cannot be replaced.
