Bible Study No 2

THE FULL ARMOUR OF GOD

You must get dressed properly every morning. You normally get dressed with clothes, but you must dress yourself in the full armour of God as well.

You must put on the following:

1. The helmet of salvation
- to protect your mind
2. The breastplate of righteousness
- to protect you heart
3. The belt of truth
- to hold yourself together
4. Your feet shod with the readiness of the gospel of peace
- to protect you while you walk on rough ground
5. The shield of faith
- to ward of and deflect the enemy's fiery darts
6. The sword of the spirit, which is the word of God
- to attack the enemy with

Typically Christians do not use the sword of the spirit, they just defend themselves with the shield of faith, but with the sword, not only can you attack the enemy, but stand your ground and advance.

You may notice, the full armour of God does not cover your back - you don't need it - you either stand your ground or attack and advance - the Lord our God protects your rear. A simple definition of 'sword' is 'a hand held weapon', so is the Bible, which is the word of God!
