[15-09-2003 Update] Fixed some table problems on the links page. Added a short page about my trip to Brazil in 2001. Enjoy... Also, please sign this online petition against software patents. Every signature counts! [09-09-2003 Update] All my links have been sorted out, they were looking quite messy. I might even consider setting that to my browser home page. I've drawn another comic for the web site. It just needs tidying up before I stick it online, watch this space....well....the comics page :-) Its 11.30pm, I've got to work tomorrow so I'm going to go to bed now. [07-09-2003 Important News!] The European Parliament postponed the vote on software patents. This is good news, but the battle isn't over yet. We all need to raise awareness of software patents and how they are damaging to the economy before they vote again. Send an email, or write a letter to your MEP expressing your opposition. [07-09-2003 News] Started work in the south of England. It was quite a big move because I've never lived south of York before (except for when I was in Germany, but that doesn't count). Had a great time in Barcelona, I'm going to try and put some scanned holiday stuff onto my page as soon as I have some time. Im planning another trip to Barcelona because I enjoyed it so much. I'm going to pick up lots of things like wine and much needed cooking supplies :-) [07-09-2003 Update] Moved the links to links.html because they were taking up too much space on the front page. Im also working on a contents box to the left to try and split the site up a little more. I created all these little icons for the contents box (like magnifying glasses and little newspapers) in the gimp. Actually the redesign is because after looking at the site in several browsers I was horrified to see just how cluttered it all seemed. It really needed fixing. The old title picture was quite tacky also, reminded me of a cheesy theme park with the constant smell of sick.

ABOUT ME My name is James Blewitt. I think that I've been programming since I was about 8 years old on a ZX spectrum (although, I'm willing to admit that my coding style was not rajor sharp in those days :-). Currently I'm living in Guildford, working for an IT consultancy I did my degree in Computer Science at the University of York. If you have never been to York before, you should certainly visit. York is a wonderful city, very historic and has something for everyone. I only really started to appreciate living there in my last year of study (sadly), and I'm really missing it already. Im a big fan of novels by Iain Banks (writer of The Wasp Factory and The Bridge). I enjoy reading science fiction novels, of which my favourites include: Neuromancer, Red Mars, Cryptonomicon. Currently, I'm just starting to read The Lord of The Rings because I feel that its something that must be read before one dies and so what better time than the present? Im also a keen traveller and will be putting photos of some of the places I've been on this page soon.
