Coach House Blues
The Coach House Bampton Grange, Cumbria
The workshops are held in the delightfully restored Coach House at Bampton Grange, a small hamlet in the far eastern fells of the Lake District. It is situated two miles from Haweswater, the area is quiet, unspoilt, outstandingly beautiful and the local walks are without equal. The Coach House Itself has been imaginatively converted leaving many of the original features untouched. The open plan first floor with kitchen, dining area and sitting room with log burning stove and "bridge" overlooking the hall all add to its charm. The main sleeping area (the Coach House can accomodate 8 persons) bathrooms, shower and toilets are on the ground floor. The sandstone paved hall inside the original stone archway with french windows opening onto a cobbled courtyardform the main working area although if the weather is fine much can be done in the garden and orchard which are secluded - the River Lowther flows in front of the house.
