Calmira II version 3.0

Calmira gives the old Windows 3.x a new lease of life. This is probably what Windows 3.2 would have looked like if Microsoft had continued with it. Notice that there is a taskbar and icons actually on the desktop. These are not reduced programs that are using up resources but exactly what they appear to be al la Windows 95. The grey tiled background is just one of the standard tiled options from Windows 3.x. You could make it look anyway you like with Windows 3.x wallpapers or use a picture of your own. Simply convert an image to a bitmap and copy into the WINDOWS directory. It will then be included in the list of available backgrounds. For the more "authentic" look copy the file clouds.bmp from the WINDOWS directory of a 95/98 system (98 SE doesn't seem to have it curiously enough). (Click here for a screenshot.)

As for the good old Program Manager, it is still there. Can be run with or without Calmira resident.

386 SX, Windows 3.1 or 3.11, 4Mb of RAM, about 2Mb of hard drive space, VGA & Mouse.
