The funding for YSDCT currently comes from the following organisations.

  • South Gloucestershire Council annual grant funds the majority of the Co-ordinator's salary.
  • Yate Town Council grants have funded the emergency contact mobile phone and additional capital items such as the photocopier, as well as support towards replacement vehicles
  • Additional grants are applied for from Parish Councils and Charitable Trusts to provide the funds for the replacement vehicles, in particular Doddington Parish Council have provided regular grants towards new buses.
  • The Countryside Agency grant provided a substantial amount towards our first replacement vehicle in 1999 and has provided 35% of the amount required for the second replacement in 2000.
  • The vehicles are self-funding through the Group Hire scheme with the Rural Bus Challenge currently assisting in the running costs of the Ring & Ride service and the Volunteer Car Scheme.
