Carlton Next (1999)

This isn't how the viewers are supposed to see it. A programme title or a menu should go in the middle, but when Carlton first arrived the caption generator wasn't in place!

Carlton Next Widescreen (2000)

Now that's what it should look like! The centre caption appears in this widescreen version; the clip is letterbox format.

Carlton Breakdown (2001)

Yes, things still go wrong! And when they do, Carlton uses this generic ITV caption. This break occured one morning during "Trisha" and the music is "Have A Nice Day". The clip has been edited to remove pauses between speech and music.

Carlton Advertising Promo (2000)

Carlton's version of Westcountry's advertising video. There were several variations, shown during commercial breaks.

Carlton Next (2001)

To coincide with HTV's new look, revamped "Next" captions are now used complete with picture for the programme advertised. During lapses of concentration just the background is seen!

Carlton Queen Mother Link (30.03.2002)

Normally so defensive of its corporate image, Carlton let its guard drop when the death was announced of the Queen Mother. Chris Langmore takes us into the news using the generic ITV1 slide.

Carlton Final Next (27.10.2002)

And away it goes...With the abolition of regional continuity, Carlton's Next slide breathes its last in the early hours of that fateful Monday. But Patti doesn't give anything away...
