TSW's nightly news show inherited most of Westward Diary's presenters, including Kenneth McLeod. The theme was also used for TSW's signed weekly roundup, The South West Week.

Today South West (1982)

A later edition from the same era. Poor Kenneth appears to be on his own though...

TSW Late News (1984)

Like Westward before them, TSW used a simple slide to introduce lunchtime and late news bulletins but modern news presentation caught up with them in 1987.

TSW News (1987)

The sting which opened early morning/lunchtime news bulletins from 1987.

TSW Today (1988)

In 1986 Today South West's name was shortened to Today, and there were new titles and music. The rhombus boxes look familiar - think Westcountry Live! Sue King has now defected from the BBC to co-present with Chris Rogers.

TSW Today News (1988)

A new hi-tech sting (well, we thought so at the time) for the lunchtime and late bulletins, but the music is as 1987.

The South West Week (1988)

TSW's weekly news series for the deaf. The best of the week's stories were reviewed with signing and subtitles. Lawrie Quayle presents this episode; the original "Today South West" theme lived on.

Newsport (1990)

The Saturday sports round-up seven years later. Announcers now read the bulletin. Rather strange that filmed titles were still being used in 1990; mind you, this sequence first appeared in 1987.

TSW Today (1991)

In 1989, "Today" was renamed TSW Today and this title sequence was first shown in Autumn 1989.

Accompanying the above titles for other news bulletins was this sting.

TSW Today Last Edition (31.12.1992)

Time finally runs out for TSW after the Lords throw out their appeal against the award of the franchise to Westcountry Television.
