Wallace:-
Story:-
We had decided to share our home with another k9. I contacted animal samaritans
and was told about a litter of pups that had been cruelly treated and beaten.
Due to the foot and mouth crisis we had to meet the lady from the charity in a
car park as she lived on a farm and didn't want to risk infection. We had
already had our hearts set on a dog and when the lady from the charity arrive
with a back seat full of pups it was difficult to make a choice. After a while
it seemed that wallace had chosen us rather than us choosing him. So off we went
home, for wallace to meet his k9 brother Barney.
Wallace was skinny and really stinky when we first got home. It was also heart
breaking to see him because he got spooked so easily, a spooked puppy isn't a
very nice thing to see. With lots of love, kisses, play times, and help from
Barney Wallace settled in a treat.
Wallace is an absolute gem. He is no trouble and has endless love and affection
to give. He remains a little nervous of strange men, but compared with the puppy
we brought home last march he has learnt to trust and love people.
Wallace is amazing how he has developed from a fraught and frightened pup hiding
all the time into a confident proud and loving companion.
He has something about him that just makes people grin. When we are out with him
strangers pass us by look at wallace and smile, people want to stop and talk to
him and make a fuss of him, he is especially a hit with the ladies!
At home he is affectionately know as Bubba Gump due to his Forest Gump like
ways. He deserves dog of the week because we love him, that includes his k9 brother
Barney and his two feline brothers.
