You could be next weeks winner, you'll never know unless you try. This weeks competition winner is:-
Jade:-
Story:-
After losing my German Shepherd "Tasman" to cancer I found that after
9 mths of mourning her loss, it was time to get another dog. I rang a Pet Shop
that advertised Labrador X Golden Retriever pups, but had to put my name on a
waiting list for 4 weeks if I wanted a female. So I waited & on a hot
February day I went to pick her up. She was the last pup left in the pen waiting
for a home - mine.
"Jade" was supposed to be my canine companion who wasn't going to be anything more than my 'lapdog' at home, how wrong that turned out to be !!!
"Jade" has turned into a superfit, athletic dog, competing in
Obedience, Tracking, Agility and Jumping Trials. She also has a gentle side when
she goes visiting residents at a local Retirement Village/Nursing Home here each
week as their Pet Therapy dog.
"Jade" is quite a favourite with the male dogs, never short of
admirers, but then 'blondes do have more fun' they say !!!
"Jade" has gained 3 Titles in under 12 months. Her Tracking Dog Title
- T.D., her Companion Dog Title in Obedience - C.D., & her Jumping Dog Title
- J.D. This year "Jade" will try for her Tracking Dog Excellent and
Companion Dog Excellent Titles. Whatever happens, I will still love her just as
much as if she had no Titles.
"Jade" should be the winner of the Dog of the Week Competition because
she has an outgoing personality that everyone loves, a gentle nature and a
willingness to please. She will share her toys, sticks and even food, without a
growl. She plays with other dogs quite happily showing her playful, happy side.
"Jade" has never made contact with another dog in anger, as I say of
her She's a lover, not a fighter !!
I have taken "Jade" to a Dog Socialising Group every week for the past
3 years, and I put down this interaction between so many types of dogs as the
reason she gets on well with them all & her happy nature. Her Volunteer work
as a Pets as Therapy Dog is also something she loves, she is able to sense the
residents needs & is very gentle with them. Just to see the smiles on their
faces is reward enough.
