History:-
On our third trip to Battersea dogs home we suddenly saw an elderly dog walker being dragged out of the kennel by a big black tail-wagging thing. My husband and I turned around and said "what is THAT?...we want it". That is how Bilbo (nee Rocky Bear) came into our lives.

His resume was not good: juvenile delinquent, destructive, separation anxiety, possessive with food and toys and (the most worrying bit) was prone to scent marking.

We have had him now for two months and we absolutely adore him. He walked into our home as if he had always lived here and settled in immediately. He has not been destructive at all or possessive, and although he is rarely left alone for more than 2 hours, when he has been on his own for longer, he just sleeps!

We have had to be quite strict with him to make him realise that our bed is ours (not his) and that in our house dogs are not allowed on the furniture or that dogs are not supposed to eat our food. He has to be bribed into the house after being let out (he likes Bonios) and he has now learned that when we are out walking and he does not come when he is called, we hide - potentially worrying prospect while walking on a large farm!

His greatest sin is APS (Andrex Puppy Syndrome)...he just loves grabbing hold of the end of the toilet roll and festooning the downstairs rooms with it! He is also a keen gardener - but does not like Poinsettias or ferns (well, he likes to eat them).

He is the friendliest dog you could imagine: he loves people, dogs and even children of all sizes - mind you, he did growl at me when I came home with a perm...

We would love to get another Rottie x Collie - seemingly a sublime mixture of brawn with brain!.
