History:-
I always say Chico is a mascot for the village. Every dog lover knows her and some give her a hello and a treat when they walk by our house. She is a wise dog and would go walking with anyone who would let her.
She walked with one man every day for a long time before we came here. The man had a heart problem and would go for maybe two walks a day. Chico would be at his door waiting and off they went. When they returned, she would stop and watch to see if he would get up the steps and in the house without a problem and only when he was safe inside would she continue on to her home. She walked with him until he passed away and then for awhile she after, she went to his house to wait. Finally she gave up and looked for someone else.
If a person told her NO she would not walk with them. Chico was a friend of our Sheba and started coming to the house, I hated to see her sleeping in the snow, so I got her to come in. After that she never went home. That made her dog number four! She comes walking with me everyday!
