Tetley was part of a litter that came to HOME RESCUE at 4 weeks because their canine Mum and their original human Mum were not able to look after them. We were told by our vet that the whole litter were suffering from inoperable cataracts (the full story can be read in TETLEY'S TAILS on our website). Because of this diagnosis, we prepared ourselves for a dog that could only see shadows at best. As the weeks went by, it became clear that Tetley (and his littermates) could see perfectly. However, during the weeks when we thought that Tetley was visually impaired, I made contact with many people around the world who's dogs really were visually impaired or blind. Because I feel strongly about the fact that 'disabled' dogs can lead full and happy lives and because I'd like to give others the opportunity to consider this emotive subject, I have left in place all the information that I originally put on Tetley's page regarding links to 'blind dog' sites etc.
