Captain John Sheridan became commanding officer of Babylon 5 during the station's second year of operation when Commander Sinclair is re-assigned to Minbar as ambassador. Like his predecessor, Sheridan participated in the Earth/Minbari war and was responsible for destroying the Minbari's flag ship "The Dark Star" by unorthodox means which earned him the nickname "Star Killer" by the Minbari. Not a popular choice of commanding officer for the Minbari, though Ambassador Delenn goes out of her way to befriend him.
