Aarrghhhh. How a one liner can make you feel even worse! The box copped the brunt of it (his birthday box unfortunately) but he says there is no damage to the records. One side of the fibre glass of the box has got a split in, and Frostie (being the NICE guy he is) said to me "s'alright, makes it look better having a bit of wear and tear". I don't 'alf feel grim about it tho. One of those things - got the stuff out of the boot, chatting on, not paying attention, one box left in road while he huffed the other indoors and bang! Not good.

My weekend highlight was Aud in an Indian "resturant" with a (and I use this term lightly) bottle of red wine! Hey maates! I wasn't going to interfere, but I've changed my mind and figure it would be good to give you precise directions once you all reach sunny Margate. Beach to your left, arcades to your right, bear left at the clock tower traffic lights and drive round the harbour, up the hill, round the bends (about a mile) and you will pass over a zebra crossing just by (what was) the Lido which is on the left. First (or poss second - can't remember) turning past the zebra crossing on right is Ethelbert Road (enormous great big sign announces it). Big gravel car park on the sea side of the main road. If you reach the pub/club called Thorleys and Franks, you've gone too far. As far as Frostie's whereabouts goes - god knows, but I am supposed to be picking him up at about 10am tomorrow morning to transport him (and possibly Mickey??) to Margate. We'll be there around 12-ish hopefully. I'm waiting for him to call, to confirm this, but am under the impression it is deffo a goer! Looking forward to seeing you all there! ttfn. xx

How to view your mail before downloading it: Go to the DOS prompt and then type in telnet pop.(whatever your mail is held on).co.uk or whatever..eg: telnet pop.freeserve.net This will get you onto the server but without a GUI being present. Then type in the following: user (username) You will then get a +OK response pass (password) Again +OK Then type in list You will then get a list of all emails currently in your post box..ie: 1 3456 -2 567 3-1024 etc. The number on the left is the mail numner and the number to its right is the file size. to retrieve a mail type retr(x) where x is the mail number to delete type dele(x) where x is the file you want to delete you can delete multiple mails using the xdele command but be careful. If you put in xdele n1 n5 it will delete ALL mails between 1 & 5. Once completed then type quit and hey presto...changes are made. Bit long winded but there you go.

Impromyu affarir, I put an open invite in the forum with my e-mail address and besides, I'm sure I e-mailed you at your caravan28 address. Monk, it's not officially launched but http://www.purfleetfootballclub.com/index2.htm is the site in progress. Dreamweaver and Fireworks are indeed totally different things, cheers Kaya. Dreamweaver is an HTML editor and Fireworks is a graphics editor - like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, but geared up for web graphics. All the Macromedia suite are aimed specifically at the Web.

Monk, morning. I stayed up til 4am looking at non-league football club sites! Cheers for checking on a Mac. It's usually G3s that give Javascript errors for some reason, but only 1% of hits come from Macs, so be lucky Mac users! The frameset and javascript on this site are the only things that might cause problems if you're using IE3 for example. According to the stats for the Main Page 29 out of 6358 hits (0%) have come from browsers other than IE and Netscape 4+. I'm not going to make a non-framed version of the site for so few people I'm afraid I'm a hard woman. The answer is easy - download and install IE5 - it's free! Note for the 50 people that have accessed at 640x480 - YOU BLIND BASTARDS change your desktop settings.

The cable modem deal with NTL is a good one if you need to spend a lot of time on the Inet. I think it's something like a 500 meg pipe that you are put onto. Very fast connections for those that need the speed. However, I'm paying £50 per annum for my connection and no line charges. It's still using the BT local loop which is slower than a slow thing, but at least I'm not incurring £450 phone bills anymore. http://www.thefreeinternet.com

Paul you're right about speed but there will be some sharing of bandwidth which means that full speed will happen very rarely, however you've got to do a lot of downloading to justify £40-00 per month thats 2 hours per day at bt offpeak, However, no there are no call charges in that but neither are there any on surftime. But get work to pay, and go for ntl, one thing there is currently up to 10 week waiting for the service in parts of the country so check and get install date B4 you sign.

Cable Modems are supposed to be 10 times faster than ISDN or something like that. It depends what you're doing on the net. If you're just getting e-mail and surfing then it may not be worth the cost, but if you're downloading and transferring files and software for work then it sounds a bargain. I take it there are no call charges on top of that £40?

Paul, if you're with ntl already, surely you get free access anyway (http://www.askntl.com/ntlworld-free/default.asp) so unless you really need 24 hour connection i'd question £40-00 per month and I would certainly question £225-00 install. Try Telecom surftime(http://www.bt.com/surftime/) which is cheaper, or see what other ISP's are doing, eg Demon etc, or wait a couple of weeks and see if we become ISP's cos we'll make money out of businesses not domestic which means evening access should be quick

Ian, I'm using IE at the moment & typing this entry into the box. It returns when it gets to the RH side (as it should) so I can see what I've typed. With Netscape it carries on off the edge & I have to use the scroll bars to see it. If I could get rid of the pop-ups I'd use IE all the time. Also, I reset my homepage to soulboys but it always defaults next time I launch either browser.

I think it is just right for us punters, the Bar area where Sunday will be held is Big and in a basement. The place is a little run down, but I spoke with a guest and she said her room was very nice, clean etc. Most rooms are ensuite,Some of you have been to the club (Saturday nite venve)I had a party there in April,and we all had a great time. This is the life, lovely accomodation in a stately home, 3 meals a day and a free bar! Some minor course work (chatting and comparing social life notes!) but other than that its brilliant! What a way to relax after that weekend! Did anyone get a picture of Maggie as she saw what Frostie had done to her feet? Can it be reprinted? Does Brownie always rattle on so much? Is there a meaning to this? Well, off ot the sauna now followed by a massage (and very nice he is tooooooooooo) - god I hate these courses!

Hello everybody peeps! Well last night was another exciting night in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus! We went for home made ice cream at a local Ice Cream parlour! will this high life ever end;o) Just had an epic e-mail from Niki - cheers chick - so I know what you all did last week! Naughty naughty, there will be some slapped wrists (arses?) when I get back to town! I'm glad that you're all filling the time that I'm away constructively and that you're not missing me TOO much - like you'd get the chance with my daily entry in here! Craig, I think that a ginga (yinny) kitten would look good with the black one that we already have - aesthetics are important in these choices!
