Well kaya was safely deposited at Stanstead Airport this morning,I made a real show of meself crying like a baby as I sobbed my goodbyes.He was dry eyed ? and quite in control.People must have thought i was mad, agrown man crying as I crawled along clinging onto Kaya's leg up to the entrance.(it wasn't quite that bad actually but I got very upset.)Oh well a few drinks tonight and some Astronaught food and I'm sure I'll be fine again. I've got TV card / Video capture software and access to Real Video streams. I have tried to stream a 30 second clip of a Paolo Di Canio goal on my Shammers site before, and it was rubbish. We would need a superfast, superlarge server to stream a 4/5 minute video clip. I reckon it will be at least 20MB in low quality....

Analogue to digital video capture is an expensive outing mate. It's dependant on the length of the video as much as anything else. There are software packages out there that will do it for you, but you'll also probably need some form of RF Modulator in your PC as well as a serious go-away video card and the aforementioned editing suite. Sean may be able to point you in the right direction...

I've had a couple of enquiries about booking up with us for Caister, and we're quite happy for any of you lot to book up with us if you want. As long as you are aware of the 'caravan' rules - no sleeping, cooking or cleaning - then it's fine by us. The more the merrier. So far there's me, Kaya, Craig, Spud, Ross, Tony, Doris and I think Dawn and Bev. I doubt we'll get Caravan 28 again though, although the stories about us nicking a microwave (!!!) and leaving the place in a rite state are grossly exaggerated :o))

Thanks, Kaya. It turns out I have Real Jukebox & I'll give it a try later. As for Internet access, I used to pay £30+ a month using aol. Now I'm on ntl it's free. You have to rent their phone line which is £9.00 a month but you get 15 channels of TV thrown in. Max. surf time is 2 hours before you are cut off but you can log straight back in. I have yet to be cut off mid-surf.

Paul, If you get yourself Real Jukebox from Downloads.com, you can record CD's as MP3's...as for burning MP3's onto CD, you're never gonna get the quality as good. And besides, when you save MP3's as WAV's the filesize increases dramatically (from 2-3 Mb to about 20-30Mb).

I remember the pony tailed bar-person had a go at Craig because he said something derogatory about her dad's boat! I think that the worst part was that they didn't have any blackcurrant for the snakebites! I was forced to drink cider against my will...dunno how many pictures were taken on the camera, it got left at Niki's, but I do remember Craig saying that he wasn't in any pictures (about every 10 minutes) so there should be loads of piccies of him at least. Anyway, I am very proud of everyone for getting up this morning, my lovely boss let me have the day off so I am cooking $eftali Kebebs for him!!

Well, the first 'Whats The Word' radio show went out to East London (Havering) last night and, whilst it may only be a drop of true groove in the normal ocean of musical mush, we've had some encouraging noises by way of feedback by unknowns-to-us already, so somebody must have been listening and digging it! As presenter Chris Heath said by way of introduction, if you want music to take drugs too and dance about to, I recommend you go down the dial somewhat, if you want to listen to smooth jazz, go up the dial a bit but if you want to hear real groove music played by real musicians stay right where you are...oh, and if you want garage and house... I recommend you see an estate agent'. The first hour of the show featured US artists (from Shirley Brown to Eric Benet and Frank McComb) and included an interview I did with Roy Ayres and associates (including 13 years with Stevie Wonder legendary drummer, Denis Davis). Then we switched to the local London scene - through Brand New Heavies, Jamiroquai, JimJam and Ola etc - and included part one of an in-depth interview with guru guitarist Jim Mullen. A very big thanks to all those musicians (as in pretty much everyone asked!) for being so supportive of the project. Upcoming not-to-be-missed features include the Ola (interview) hour, the Jim Mullen (part two), Steve Rubie and Richard Niles (intelligent and entertaining) 'rants on life and the music biz' and a particularly soulful and poigniant blues masterclass by Eugene 'Hideaway' Bridgeson the roots of soul and groove (a real gem from a real old style, yet young, travelling bluesman). Though we say it ourselves, this is a f***ing excellent project. Not, of course, cos of my production or Chris's (excellent) on-air presentation, but because of the quality of the music (much of it home grown and which stands side by side, quality wise, with the US 'big boys' as we proved last night) AND the intelligent and articulate interviews with some of the players involved, all of whom really do have something to say beyond the normal name dropping and plugging of product (welcome as that is). Unfortunately my life as an international playboy (for any Americans reading this, it's called irony!) and Chris's committments to family and career means that our future involvement is likely to be limited to this occassional modest summer foray (mind you we wouldn't object to the show being syndicated elsewhere or put on the net, or whatever). However, I really do hope that somebody in the media business proper follows the lead and takes up the mantle for this kind of show. The groove artists, not least those truly brilliant and gifted UK 'independents', definitely deserve a bigger platform and spotlight.

Hi everyone. Yes Niki, I'm lurking! Well the gossip is Frostie did nothing but eat and sleep, and Mickey, Jay & Scot did nothing but watch telly and read books, quiet as you like, while me and Legs just partied for 24 hours a day, non stop from the minute we got there, with no sleep and nothing to eat all weekend!! We're SO hardcore, you wouldn't believe it. I'll leave it to you to imagine what really happened!! Music too heavy for me and the punters full of attitude, and the heat in the clubs was incredible. Deffo wouldn't go again, but very grateful for Frostie's hospitality (in other words, glad I didn't pay for it!!!) and glad I saw what the opposition is like. I'm a Caister girl at heart.

Paul, if there is a folder called Signup in C:\Prograom Files\Internet Explorer\Signup - you can get rid of all the NTL (or any other ISP) stuff by deleting everything in that folder. Just everything in Signup. As long as you know your password and login to access the net you don't need any other crap. To set Soulboys as your hompage in IE go to Tool-Internet Options and click Use Current in the hompage section.

Paul, you can get a programme called POP UP KILLER from www.downloads.com but be careful how you configure it as it can also do the helpful task of killing new windows that you WANT to open. Hello Mates Great night at the Lacey Last night!! It was well worth the journey from Margate. Mr Hill played a brill set.And just when I thought it was time to go home he put on 'Do I DO' Stevie Wonder- 'Saturday Night is Shining on that Sunday morning Face' Thema Huston The Floor erupted! The scarry part of the nite was there seems to be a Mad Dog look-a-like I went over to speak to him twice and realised just in time!!Hope Bev got home OK.
