Stereophonics are brilliant. Visit http://freespace.virgin.net/nigel.sachdev/phonics.html for an excellent (official) site. It's not mine but it's so good I thought I'd plug it anyway. And the barmaid smiles.... Sorry but I've just bought the album and I think it's the best album in the history of the world. If you've been bothered to read all this and you like the Stereophonics, e-mail me. Why have all the messages stopped on this board? And remember- it only takes one tree, to make a thousand matches- only takes one match, to burn a thousand treeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees.

Greg O'Keeffe at 17:43:21 Saturday September 20 97
The new Travis album, 'Good Feeling' is superb. Tracks like : The Line is fine (gotta be heard) Tied to the 90's, Mid summer dreamin', More than us, happy and the frankly beatiful Funny thing are tremendous. Recorded this year in The big apple, they'll be touring it in October. They can also be seen supporting O****s around the country....if you're that way inclined. Bye.

Guy Walsh at 12:29:23 Thursday September 18 97
I like the Lightning Seeds, Silver Sun, Stereophonics, the Supernaturals, Shed Seven, Cast, Placebo, Oasis, the Manics, and most other indie bands except Suede and K*la Sh*k*r. Feel free to e-mail me if you have similar tastes.

Greg at 13:33:54 Saturday September 13 97
Guy, The Stereophonics have just finished touring a thousand trees, and I'll try an find out their next dates for you.

Guy Walsh at 12:9:57 Thursday September 11 97
Anyone got any Lightning Seeds or Streophonics tour dates? Also any gigs in Leicester?

Greg 'cant spell' at 22:31:12 Tuesday August 26 97

Greg o at 22:30:38 Tuesday August 26 97
Thanks Julie, Right now I'm into Travis and The Syereophonics, just bought the album 'Word gets around yesterday' and it's ace. I haven't bought 'further' have you? Later

Julie Heggarty at 15:56:45 Tuesday August 26 97
Greg O'Keefe Yes Geneva are great along with Jeff Buckley, Tindersticks, Sparklehorse, red Hopuse Painters etc etc

Greg at 14:48:24 Thursday August 21 97
'Drugs don't work' by The Verve is magnificent, anyone out there agree?

HeadCleaner at 15:15:48 Thursday August 14 97
Mind you, don't expect them too soon...HeadCleaner got a bit pished at lunchtime...

HeadCleaner at 9:6:45 Thursday August 14 97
Sorry this week's single reviews are late - things have been a bit hectic in the world of HeadCleaner. Expect reviews of Stereophonics, Travis, Echobelly, Dawn Of The Replicants and Suede very soon...

Greg O'Keeffe at 11:18:36 Tuesday August 12 97
Good news for fellow Travis fans, they have been confirmed as support on the Oasis tour so they'll get maximum exposure. Expect Oasis fans nationwide to come out confused, and wondering if their Mancunian idols really are that good, compared to Fran Healy and co. By the way, the Travis album GOOD FEELING is out on September 8th, and the single Tied to the nineties (not one fo their best but still good) is out now.

HeadCleaner at 15:44:22 Saturday August 2 97
HeadCleaner is currently undergoing a redesign (a Clean up?)...please don't be alarmed if things begin to look different. Hopefully the new design will make the site a nicer place to be (content will remain unchanged).

Kenickie at 13:9:39 Thursday July 31 97
A tribute to Lauren Laverne Oh Lauren you are very nice, with your hair, and face. and eyes, and..

That's better! A bit of action here at last!

Greg O'Keeffe at 14:0:51 Tuesday July 29 97
I'M BACK TO SAVE THE UNIVERSE!!.... Well not really but hi anyway!

Neil Morrell at 21:24:26 Monday July 28 97
If you are stuck for something to buy this weekend you could do a lot worse than buying the terry Hall single 'Ballad of a Landlord' or even the album if it is out yet. Put this man in the charts where he belongs.

HeadCleaner at 9:28:23 Monday July 28 97
Everyone's on holiday...

Andrew at 10:19:15 Friday July 25 97
Mind you, it doesn't look like many people use this place at the moment, does it? lol

Andrew at 12:11:37 Tuesday July 22 97
Firstly, congratulations and a hearty well-done for producing a really great music site. I like it! The single reviews, although not always the same as my views, are great to read. It's good that the 'b-sides' are also looked at. Secondly, on a grimmer note, I am bloddy disgusted by the way Jocasta have been dropped from Epic on the day of release of their album, 'No Coincidence'. IMHO, I think it's a great album and they've got some top-notch songs. You should really hear some of their b-sides! I just hope that it's not too long before someone else snaps them up. Take care, all!

Greg at 11:50:3 Sunday July 20 97
Look out for TRAVIS and STEREOPHONICS albums in August. Travis release their next single tied to the nineties on the August 4. It is class, and Stereophonics release A Thousand trees around the same date! Later.

HeadCleaner at 9:53:47 Friday July 11 97
There WILL be a review of "OK Computer" on HeadCleaner by Sunday evening at the very latest. As a taster however, the LP can be summed up as being stunning, stellar and startling.

Greg at 21:48:32 Thursday July 10 97
Alain, I think Radioheads success is due to many factors, their first big single 'creep' got everybody talking, it was brilliant and got loads of airplay due to it's quality. America loved it, and the band became extremely pissed off because people became interested in the single, not the band. So they stopped playing it. It took the general public ages to recognise just how amazing the Bends was, but it soon became a classic. Secondly, Radiohead are sort of THE NAME to drop, comparisons are rife, see..travis,wireless,subcircus,mansun,longpigs. Finally they make sucj beautiful, heart wrending music some of which can be uplifting (no surprises, fake plastic trees, nice dream, high&dry) I seriously recommend you listen to soem of their music, OK computer is amazing and Headcleaner will have a review of it soon. Later.

Alain at 11:48:32 Thursday July 10 97
I don't really know Radiohead, but this band seems to encounter a huge success these days (con fere 'OK Computer'). Still, I am a bit surprised because what I've heard from this band seems to be quite sad. I don't blame them for that, since sadness can be extremely beautiful (see Portishead, Morcheeba or Archive), but I am amazed at their commercial success then. Could someone explain that to me please ? Thanx

Alain at 11:18:52 Thursday July 10 97
I was too slow apparently...too bad for the friend. Thanx a lot anyway Greg.

Greg O'Keeffe at 13:28:8 Wednesday July 9 97
Alain, Both those samples can be found at NME web site. Be quick! luego.

Alain at 13:4:38 Wednesday July 9 97
Would anybody have a .wav sample of Portishead or Massive Attack's new singles please ? It's for a friend By the way 'Risingson' is just fantastic. I listened to it ten times this morning before to go to work !

Greg again at 21:14:0 Sunday July 6 97
BY THE WAY, DID ANYBODY CATCH RADIOHEADS BREATHTAKING GLASTO SET. 'NO SURPRISES' COULD MAKE A GROWN MAN CRY. OK COMPUTER BUY IT. If you want to of course.

Greg O'Keeffe at 21:9:37 Sunday July 6 97
I pity the sad fools who will queue to purchase Oasis new single, a sub standard recycled ramabling song..supposed to be epic at 7 minutes. Could you be bothered queuing so early to buy a cd? It'll still be there at a more sensible time. And if you want epic, just listen to 'Paranoid Android' by Radiohead. later.

Greg at 14:1:28 Friday July 4 97
IVY, Je suis tres desole pour nous prarlons pas le Francais dans 'Headcleaner.' Un petit. J'espere tu aimes le 'webpage' .... a bientot GREG.

HeadCleaner at 10:45:0 Friday June 27 97
Down boy...

Greg at 19:51:17 Wednesday June 25 97
One thing, Saffron from Republica Oh yes ciao

HeadCleaner at 23:29:18 Monday June 23 97
Send us yer reviews of them then, Martin!

Martin at 21:6:22 Monday June 23 97
Why is it that Headcleaner reviews a few singles each week yet only one album every 6 months? On a tight budget?? Heck, I buy more LPs than that!

Greg O'Keeffe at 14:45:33 Sunday June 22 97
I'm not sure about Uresei Yatsura, they may well be destined for lo-fi obscurity. Geneva are brilliant but no matter what is said image does matter, what is special about Geneva is they manage by pure musical ability to transend any industry image boundaries. I share the ed's concern. By the way, can you all help get 'All I wanna do is rock' in the top 20?? Come on! Later

Julie Heggarty at 19:39:23 Saturday June 21 97
Greg O'Keefe Yes Geneva are great along with Jeff Buckley, Tindersticks, Sparklehorse, red Hopuse Painters etc etc

Julie Heggarty at 19:34:2 Saturday June 21 97
I thought your review of Geneva at the Barrowlands was pretty pathetic. Personally I love music and am more concerned with the music, what a person expresses and what they are like within rather than some image that has probably just been dreamed up by a marketing person. As for Andrew in JPG.........please!! He is a lovely guy and they are a good band who may yet become great.

Martin at 19:15:54 Thursday June 19 97
Urusei Yatsura do get played on the radio. Just last week the new single/EP "Fake Fur" has been played on the Evening Session and John Peel shows on Radio 1.

Steven at 23:6:23 Wednesday June 18 97
Why don't Urusei Yatsura get played on the radio, ever? They're the most underrated (and one of the best) bands in Britain. PS Has anyone heard Mogwai 4 satin? Christ that's a weird song

tommo at 17:33:11 Wednesday June 18 97
You joked on this weeks single reviews that Peel Acres is John's back garden. Well in actual fact it is. They did a session there for his show a few weeks ago. Just thought you'fd like to know cheers tommo

Greg O'Keeffe at 23:58:12 Saturday June 14 97
The Bitter Pills are an exciting new act who combine catchy pop sensibilities with loud & angry guitars. Their debut EP is released on Monday 16 th June nationwide, and I recommend you try to get hold of it.

Martin at 19:20:18 Thursday June 12 97
You should all buy Cable's new album "When Aninmals Attack".

Sara (Sessan) at 10:50:36 Thursday June 5 97
bob hund (swedish) - probably the best band in the world...

Greg O'Keeffe at 14:34:42 Wednesday June 4 97
Hiya, Can any of you out there think of any decent band names? If so, please post them here!! You may see the band with that name on Good morning with Richard & Judy , or something. Thanks

Confused at 14:26:50 Wednesday June 4 97
I've just heard a song, by Delamitri and it's called 'where it's at' and it was on commercial radio, and....well, I liked it. sorry bye

HeadCleaner at 20:4:40 Tuesday June 3 97
Poor Adie...she's from Aberdeen, you see. The URL of the Travis site is actually http://www.scooter.demon.co.uk/travis/index.htm - go visit. Cool band, cool page.

Shady Spice at 16:11:39 Tuesday June 3 97
Erm.. Travis url didn't appear. Here it is: http://www.scooter.demon.co.uk Keep your heads clean...

Shady Spice at 16:10:25 Tuesday June 3 97
Hey, this page is turning into something quite cool indeed. Y'all have to check out my new Travis homepage. It's located at and I think it's quite groovy. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee............ Adie

Greg O'Keeffe at 13:31:13 Wednesday May 28 97
STOP PRES****** RADIOHEAD LIVE, RADIO 1. WEDNESDAY LUNCHTIME. Don't say you weren't warned, also listen out for 'All I wanna do is rock' by Travis. The best rock song in years. If thats not enough, Jools Holland on Saturday includes.. Radiohead, and Foo fighters. Does it get any better?

Phillip Morgan at 15:31:18 Friday May 23 97
Aren't The Real People great and all sorts, bye.

Greg O'Keeffe at 22:32:59 Tuesday May 20 97
You really should buy silver sun's debut album. It's brilliant. later!

HeadCleaner at 21:18:1 Friday May 16 97
HeadCleaner didn't manage to locate the Orlando single. For the record though, "Nature's Hated" is a gloriously sweeping piece of melancolia. Affected, but only so much as to be interesting, it carries the listener into Orlando's happily unhappy little world. Alright for a visit, but I wouldn't like to live there.

Soozy at 16:58:1 Friday May 16 97
Hold on...you interview Dickon Edwards but don't bother to review the Orlando single...something wrong there

Greg O'Keeffe at 22:21:32 Tuesday May 13 97
If you like The Manics, then you will love The Stereophonics. Another cracking Welsh threesome, signed to V2 Label. Releases to date include Local boy in the photograph, More life in a tramps vest. They can also be seen on Later with Jools Holland sometime during May. Ciao

Rob at 12:17:23 Tuesday May 13 97

HeadCleaner at 13:56:55 Friday May 9 97
HeadCleaner is resolutely British, although we do have a soft spot for some of the better stuff to come out of the States. And Fountains Of Wayne are known and liked by us - check out the single reviews for 5/5/97

Anon at 22:44:41 Thursday May 8 97
Are you American? Have you heard of Fountians of Wayne? Are they any good? Thank you

Greg O'Keeffe at 12:58:24 Sunday May 4 97
Alright! Never heard Korn, did they have a song called a.d.i.d.a.s or something? Anyway, who likes Geneva? They must have a web site somewhere. C ya

86 at 9:41:59 Sunday May 4 97
I don't like "Monkey Wrench". I don't really like any Foo Fighters tune for that matter. KoRn on the other hand is a brilliant band. Ever heard them?

Greg O'Keeffe at 17:34:3 Saturday May 3 97
I don't know, you just can't get the staff these days!! The Seahorses Number 1 with 'love is the law'. Shock of the week. Did anyone hear Jonh Squires solo on TFI Friday. It was class. The new foo fighters tune was good as well. Later!!

Greg O'Keeffe at 17:31:37 Saturday May 3 97
I don't know, you just can't get the staff these days can you. The seahorses number 1 in the charts this morning. Wierd. Has nayone heard 'Monkey wrench' by foo fighters? Later.
