Miserablle bands suck. It's false and it pisses me off.

HeadCleaner at 10:46:55 Thursday August 27 98
Due to unavailability of my PC, as from tomorrow there will be no updates to this site until the 6th September at the earliest. I'll put up a fresh message board before tomorrow, and the site will obviously be accessible as normal.

The Auteurs are one of my all-time favourite bands. Luke Haines in my view is a genius. The Auteurs haven't (to my knowledge) released anything for a couple of years, thus causing me to not unreasonably assume they had ceased to be. If rumour becomes fact and they release a new LP then I will be ecstatic: in the meantime, please pardon me from believing what I thought at the time of writing was correct.

Greg (who doesn't own/maintain the site) at 21:33:20 Wednesday August 26 98
It always disturbs me that people feel it necessary to be frankly so disrespectful, Michelle, do you have a website that reviews 5 singles a week, paid for by your own pocket, do you take the time to write the reviews, for free?? not everybody is arsed whether doom merchants like The Auteurs broke up or not.

Michelle at 20:59:4 Wednesday August 26 98
To the fellow who wrote the Black Box Recorder review - Get your facts straight. The Auteurs never broke up. BBR and Baader Meinhoff are both side projects. They are bits of Luke's genius that just didn't work within the Auteurs. Rumour has it that the Auteurs just finished recording their new album.

Andy M. at 14:35:28 Tuesday August 25 98
heh, its ok, i'll let you off. this time.

Greg. at 14:1:7 Tuesday August 25 98
Your hols, Rowan.

HeadCleaner at 10:49:58 Tuesday August 25 98
Hmmm...you're not going to like this week's Single of the Week, I can tell.

Andy M. at 10:17:17 Tuesday August 25 98
it was me. i said it wasn't. and it isn't. i fell asleep listening to it the other day. and this was just after awaking from a 3 year coma. so it wasn't as if i was tired or anything. i think the title is actually referring to the fact that if people tolerate how bad the song is, then their children will start listening to stuff like, well, the manic street preachers. we can't have children listening to dirge like that! they oughta be listening to hardcore punk like Minor Tthreat, and shouting a lot. not sitting in setees reading the guardian. and wearing slippers.

Rowan at 18:46:24 Monday August 24 98
Greg> how did i find what? TYhe new manics cd is great! so fuck off whoever it was who said it wasn't.

HeadCleaner at 18:42:53 Monday August 24 98
Due to unavoidable circumstances (I'm fucked), the single reviews for this week will be delayed until tomorrow evening. Apologies.

Greg, again, clealy too much spare time today. at 20:6:40 Sunday August 23 98
Greetings Miss Jenius, sounds a bit like 'Janus'. Samantha Janus. How did Italy/USA go? Rowan, how did you find it? How's the name deciding process going for your band?

Greg O'Keeffe baby YEAH! at 19:29:13 Sunday August 23 98
Incidentally I feel now is the time to pay tribute on the 'board to a timeless classic of movie history, last years..AUSTIN POWER'S intl. man of mystery. It has made me laugh for precisely 4 months. It also introduced me to the sublime Burt Baccarach. Who is cool as f**k. Thankyou.

Rowan at 16:16:3 Sunday August 23 98
What has happened to XFM! where's rikki javaes (sic)?

Mylene Jenius at 14:16:27 Sunday August 23 98
Q is horrible 'serious' music shite. Select is quite good but I don't like their reviews - they are nasty. Vox is alright too. I find The Face very amusing actually. It was good to read while on a 36 hour coach journey to Italy, although to tell the truth I was so bored that a piece of used toilet paper would have been interesting to read.

andrew at 11:20:12 Sunday August 23 98
RIP - XFM. as of now, london no longer has an alternative radio station. it has a coorporate f$%ked piece of s$£t of an excuse for a radio station. please head over to [http://www.netcomuk.co.uk/~nsheff/xfm/index.html] and sign the petition, etc etc, even if you've never heard it. we need as much support as possible to try and change this dreadful situation. thankyou.

Mylene Jenius at 21:1:38 Saturday August 22 98
Mary Anne Hobbs is, indeed, a world-class twat.

Greg. at 17:54:43 Saturday August 22 98
I must say 'Select' love it or hate it is fast overtaking Q as our top music/culture mag. However I think it would secretly love to become 'The Face.' What do 'cleaners think. It is oft amusing but also biased and baffling in the odd review.

Rowan at 13:10:57 Saturday August 22 98
How about the most annoying person on the face of the planet, namely Mary Anne Hobbs.

HeadCleaner at 20:45:22 Friday August 21 98
Coming soon on HeadCleaner...Vision On (a gallery of band-inspired art - a la the pic in the Cinerama interview), plus an irregular Tape Your Head feature, comprising a track listing of a compilation tape for the month (in an idea shamelessly plagiarised from Select). Maybe I'll even get round to writing a new HeadShot too. Anyone you'd like to see in HeadCleaner's sights??

HeadCleaner at 20:37:44 Friday August 21 98
I like the new Irn Bru ad myself...

Greg at 20:11:6 Friday August 21 98
The one with the dancin' kids in khaki's. Did you catch the Run DMC add? 'That wuz tha bomb,' as our charming linguistically challenged cross atlantic chums would put it.

Mylene Jenius at 18:23:12 Friday August 21 98
Hello there Mr O'Keefe, yes, I did indeed forget to mention that. Which gap ad? There were many.

GREG 'I'M BACK FROM CALIFORNIA' O'KEEFFE. at 16:40:20 Friday August 21 98
ALRIGHT!! Glad to be back hioe you're all o.k. Yes U.S. radio is shite, but the really big scene which Mylene didn't mention is the swing/big band revival . squireel nut zippers etc.... You musta seen that gap add. I haven't seen Bollycocks yet, the drummer videoed it (I hope).

jonny at 21:15:16 Thursday August 20 98
Hey Keith, you still remember SnubTV? You might be showing yr age, but also that you've got class taste......!

Rowan at 20:0:39 Thursday August 20 98
Fraid the new look page is suffering major delays on account of chronic lazy Rowan syndrome. Sorry Andy.

Andy M. at 13:29:36 Wednesday August 19 98
rowan - i wasn't there, but i think that song you mentioned that A did is a cover of a song by 'yes'. could be way wrong mind!

Dickie Voyce at 11:8:33 Wednesday August 19 98
I had the strangest train journey into Marlybone this morning . Picture this : a packed carriage, commuter filled. Having to stand up, I rest my elbow against the top of one of the chairs and lean back sleepily. Thirty-five minutes later, coming into Marlybone, I realise that in fact isn't a chair top, but rather the top of this old man's balding head. This guy must have been so freaked by my apparent cheek, he was going to endure it and say nothing....nor any of the other passengers...there's nowt as queer as folk. I'm off to Bristol on Friday to tsee the Hypnotics, my mates brother is the singer, so it's backstage and all that...I haven't heard them for years, big in the states (see below?) but not so over here - I'm going to have a mad night but will I like the music???

Rowan at 18:11:25 Tuesday August 18 98
Did 'A' do that song which goes something like 'owner of a broken heart' (or something) they were cool yesterday (although the singer was gobbing bottled water all over everyone) Idlewild were great too but too loud!

HeadCleaner at 11:3:1 Tuesday August 18 98
It's MTV culture, isn't it? To some extent it's exactly the same over here - a handful of bands that make their hallowed playlist are then rotated heavily until you're sick of them. Bring back Snub TV (am I showing my age again here?)

Andy M at 10:51:24 Tuesday August 18 98
mainstream american music is abysmal, but they have their fair share of unbelievably good "indie" sized bands. the likes of the promise ring, the get up kids, joshua, harvey danger - are all unbelievably ace (way better than anything of the same ilk over here), and their pop punk scene is overflowing with quality too. bands such as ALL, j church, the dragons, goldfinger, NOFX. i could fill this entire board up with a list of decent US bands, but that would be boring (like the rest of the message wasn't anyway, but hey...)

Mylene Jenius at 17:38:35 Monday August 17 98
And Five are quite popular too, proving America's stupidity once and for all.

Mylene Jenius at 16:31:20 Monday August 17 98
And they also play the truly terrible Matchbox 20 as well. Bleh.

Mylene Jenius at 16:30:30 Monday August 17 98
Hello again, I am baaaack. I'm highly worried about American music, though. My word, not a good band between 'em. Listen to a radio station over there and all you will hear will be the following, in rotation, over and over again: Smash Mouth, Third Eye Blind, Brandy and Monica, Will Smith, Natalie Imbruglia, Goo Goo Dolls (not actually all that bad) and predictably, Puff Daddy. Only my CD collection kept me sane...and the fact that I have the Pecadiloes single waiting for me at my local record store, yataze!! and my copy of Select with a feature on Bude Surf and Rock but no pictures or interviews with the blokes I met! Waaa! Never mind, cos if my jealous 'partner' finds out I 'met' then, I'm effing dead... Shhh. Keep it quiet. You ain't seen me, roight?

HeadCleaner at 19:33:47 Sunday August 16 98
Nice layout...slick as a weasel...nice one! (Damn good logo too..)

Rowan at 15:52:1 Sunday August 16 98
Hi, visit this url to have a sneak preview of the new look page which will be ready in a week or so: (best viewed using mie 4.0 +) thankyou. please give me an opinion: http://www.mchunn.demon.co.uk/rsingles.htm

Rowan at 18:56:22 Wednesday August 12 98
Keith> this is the most fussy thing ever and I feel really guilty but...the black (background bit) isn't black enough (if you see what I mean)! I think the colour co-ordinate things are: hue>160, lum:14, sat>36. sorry to be so fussy, If its too much hassle I can just sort of try and fill over the background with the dark black...? cheers

Rowan at 18:41:20 Wednesday August 12 98
I'm off to see idlewild at a free gig next week at virgin in london. 'A' are one of the support groups. Did have to wake up at half seven this morning to get some though.

Rowan at 18:32:26 Wednesday August 12 98
Keith> fuck me backwards(no, I don't mean it), that logo is bloody fantastic!!! Just one thing, would it be possible to do one with the 'these are not my words' in speechmarks and also one with the aformentioned text un-italic? It really is brilliant> thankyou so so so much. I will make sure I give your site a much better link etc..!! Brilliant

Andy M. at 9:29:27 Wednesday August 12 98
rowan - yeah, well, satan polaroid wasn't reviewed by either me or ian (and we are arch anti-idlewildsters), but i would have to admit that i do like both that one and the 'everyone says....' single. yikes!

HeadCleaner at 8:47:11 Wednesday August 12 98
As to be expected. You may have to wait a few days for it though - I'm extremely busy at the moment.

Rowan at 22:56:50 Tuesday August 11 98
Andy> em, not the most catchy title in the world. Hey, you've only review 4 idlewild things and one of them you gave 9/10 and the other 8/10.....thats pretty good...Keith, sounds lovely. Although I'm gonna be totally honest and blunt whether I like it or not!

HeadCleaner at 9:54:7 Tuesday August 11 98
I can see it now - vivid red Copperplate against a black background...

Andy M. at 9:38:5 Tuesday August 11 98
rowan - its a bit late now, but you could have called your page "collective are the only people in england that think we suck". admittedly, its not very catchy, and it would have given me some free publicity, but hey.

HeadCleaner at 20:52:54 Monday August 10 98
Any other requirements you have of it? Height/width, colour, font, etc?

HeadCleaner at 20:51:59 Monday August 10 98
Ok - I'll do it at work tomorrow or Wednesday. (I hope no-one from work reads this...)

Rowan at 18:48:9 Monday August 10 98
i've decided on 'these are not my words' - please could the background of the image be black. I'm sure it'll be brilliant. cheers.

Rowan at 23:18:25 Sunday August 9 98
I reckon its either gonna be 'the satan polaroid' or 'these are not my words'...em....

HeadCleaner at 1:30:39 Sunday August 9 98
Yep, no bother...you let me know what you want the logo to be and I'll do it for you.

Rowan at 20:36:39 Saturday August 8 98
Hey - good idea, I like that one.... Idlewild played their first ever gig at the subway come to think of it....Keith - don't suppose I could 'commision' you to design the logo? once i've thought of an idea (these are not my words is cool though em...

HeadCleaner at 16:59:48 Saturday August 8 98
Cowgate's an area of Edinburgh renowned for its late license drinking establishments (4am), seedy bars and a venue called The Subway where every Edinburgh band ever cuts their teeth. Although I don't know for definite if Idlewild have played there, they've certainly played the Cas Rock (just up the road), and they will most certainly have got pished there at some point. However, as the title for a web page, it's not really what you're after, is it? Scan the lyrics for a good soundbite ("These Are Not My Words" for example) and use that...?

Rowan at 12:53:11 Saturday August 8 98
It seems most soul songs suddenly go into bouts of all the same sounding rapping...but any way enough of that. What do you mean straight out of cowgate - explain.

HeadCleaner at 23:12:43 Friday August 7 98
Welcome back...are you getting R&B/Soul mixed up with rap? Listen to Straight Outta Compton (NWA) or Fear Of A Black Planet (Public Enemy), then come back and say it's pathetic. Plus that Puff Daddy/Jimmy Page song rocks like a wild thang. Call your Idlewild page "Straight Outta Cowgate" (the band'll know what you mean)...Mantra did a damn fine Travis cover ("Happy") and succeeded in looking cool whilst the cast of Bollyocks danced round like twats.

Rowan at 22:1:31 Friday August 7 98
Hi, welcome back me. The manics single was shit first time round but it's a real grower and I love it now. Just got the Nirvana live album thing which is ace. As for R&B / SOUL - it is the shittest most irritating music on the face of the planet because its just image shit. Plus the rapping all sounds the same and they think its rude and cool to mention the word ni*g*r every 7 seconds, and randomly chuck in shite about shooting coke up their gangland rival's mum's ass. They don't play any instuments, their 'songs' are pathetic and they do to many shit covers of sting songs or whatever. It is most pathetic. What was single of the week last week? I hate the flc song - it's boring! Placebo are actually pretty good and I'm not ashamed to admit that I own their debut album and half the tracks (ie the singles) are really fun to listen to. And the drummer has supurb technique. Can any one think of a decent title for my Idlewild page? (don't answer andy!) What were mantra like?

HeadCleaner at 22:58:50 Thursday August 6 98
Er, I'll rephrase that...You are an international jetsetter...have fun in the US. Matane.

HeadCleaner at 22:57:53 Thursday August 6 98
You don't half get around a bit...

Mylene Jenius at 20:15:17 Thursday August 6 98
Well, yes. They are worth buying though as they are good. Anyway, I'm off to America now, and if I survive the inevitable onslaught of R and B shite they shall fling at me, I'll be back in 10 days. Sayonara.

HeadCleaner at 22:10:30 Wednesday August 5 98
Ah, the perils of being an alternative female in the 90s...or being Brian Molko. Just think, every three Placebo CD singles you buy go towards making our Brian look like a panda.

Mylene Jenius at 16:4:58 Wednesday August 5 98
Oh, my mad shouting-Oxford-Street affair will have to wait until I get my arse out of Cornwall and up to London. Running down the streets of a tiny Cornish village just isn't the same, really. Theaudience are ace, you fool. I bought Theaudience (CD2) and Placebo today, and both are ace. So nyah. And I wanted some black eyeliner felt-pen but it was six SODDING quid! Bollocks to it, if that's the price of looking scary.

HeadCleaner at 10:2:6 Tuesday August 4 98
I shall attempt to be objective about it...I've not heard it yet.

Andy at 9:49:52 Tuesday August 4 98
round of applause for the placebo review. 100% bang on, exposing the myth of this yawn-a-thon of a song. now, if you give the same grade to the manic street bleaters when their single comes out, then i'll clap even louder.

HeadCleaner at 21:18:52 Monday August 3 98
I've misled myself? Now that takes some doing...You are Everett True and I claim my £10.

andrew at 21:15:7 Monday August 3 98
keith - you're wrong with your singles reviews again. i know i said that before but you are completey and utterly mis-lead this time. that placebo song is wonderful and fantastic and brilliantly clever, okay the lyrics are monotonous but it uses words brilliantly, even if the choice of words isn't that great (how's that for pretentious wank?). oh, and theaudience are f%$king dreadful. please don't buy their records.

HeadCleaner at 9:2:59 Monday August 3 98
How did your manic streak down Oxford Street go? I checked all the news headlines this morning, but they must have forgotten to mention it...

HeadCleaner at 18:49:34 Sunday August 2 98
Indeed. Even I bought it, and I didn't particularly like it.

Mylene Jenius at 17:45:59 Sunday August 2 98
Number 25?! Number twenty effing five?! There is no justice in the world! Bollocks to you all, and a plague on those of you who didn't buy the DAMNED THING!!!

Mylene Jenius at 15:33:1 Sunday August 2 98
PS: If Theaudience do not go top 20 today, I will run down Oxford Street shrieking "WHY?! OH FICKLE PUBLIC, WHY?!" Theaudience are truly wonderful.

Mylene Jenius at 15:31:41 Sunday August 2 98
Well, yes. Although I do not wear much mascara. And my eyes are a different colour to his - the only similarity I can see is that our hair is practically the same. But then, many, many people also tell me I am EXACTLY like the stupid black-haired bitch off Light Lunch. Ah, the trauma of being different...

HeadCleaner at 21:57:48 Friday July 31 98
Go easy on the mascara...

Mylene Jenius at 17:7:17 Friday July 31 98
Going back to the Brian Molko thing, people tell me I look like him. Dammit.

HeadCleaner at 22:48:0 Thursday July 30 98
Greg, I have just seen you (and Mantra) on Hollyoaks. Can I have your autograph?

Greg. at 22:37:5 Monday July 27 98
I'll be off for a few weeks now people so I wish you all good health, and I hope something decent is released in my absence. Keep it 'clean!

Andy at 13:27:9 Monday July 27 98
i wouldn't worry about that, there's no good stuff out this week. the only decent band to have put something out are the hormones, and its their weakest single so far. beyond that, its the usual array of indie shite and feeble dance music.

HeadCleaner at 7:58:12 Monday July 27 98
This week's single reviews will be delayed until tomorrow.

hogfan at 1:29:40 Monday July 27 98
All fans of the band Spacehog check out http://hive.net/thinkchinese The revolution has started...

shosho at 4:31:50 Saturday July 25 98
hello there..any one can help me in getting Boyzone tshirt and magazine...plz email me

Colin at 21:52:12 Friday July 24 98
Didn't we send you a tape at sometime ? Oh well, anyone out there who likes odd music, have a look at the Big Block 454 site at http://www.bigblock454.mcmail.com. Cheers, Colin. Here's where I cock everything up by trying to drop a banner :

HeadCleaner at 21:19:58 Friday July 24 98
Well, we'll just agree to disagree there. Like it or not, I'm not gonna change anything.

Rowan at 21:11:27 Friday July 24 98
I'm leaving for france tommorrow avec mon famile. Keith no matter what way you look at it, Spice girls are not alternative. P.s my page will look much nicer in a few weeks.

Head "C.Ray" Cleaner at 17:57:48 Friday July 24 98
I've not heard that, but I've heard the new a-side and it's pretty impressive...never quite convinced about Brian Molko's "me! me! look at me!" attitude, but the music's often mighty fine.

Greg Michael O'Keeffe. (Let's make it 'include our middle names' day. at 14:26:6 Friday July 24 98
arrivadeci Miss Jenius. What about Placebo'd version of 20th Century Boy then?? High octane glam rock action. As Austin Powers would say, 'yeah baby! yeah! Shagadelic.'

Mylene Jenius at 7:35:22 Friday July 24 98
Right on, brother. Speaking as someone who's B*Witched single nestles proudly next to copies of Kenickie, Gene, Marion and Ballroom CDs, I couldn't agree more. How about a rant about Japanese rock music and why it's okay to like it? (all I ever here is 'oh you can't understand the lyrics' yes I can actually 'there's no tune' hello Oasis 'it's not the stuff you normally like' bollocks to it, there's no difference between Wild Life and something by SilverSun, or between Go and Kenickie. Ahem. Excuse me, I'm leaving for Italy now. Byebye.)

HeadCleaner at 6:25:0 Friday July 24 98
Ok, come up with a definition of "alternative" then. Is it only bands that are signed to an independent label? (Scratch the Manics, Blur and Radiohead then) Or is it bands that don't make the charts? (Forget about Mansun, Pulp and Garbage then). How about bands that only use guitars? (Farewell Chemical Brothers, Air and The Beastie Boys)....or...is "alternative" a state of mind, an outlook on life where you decide yourself what you like and listen to, and try not to be driven by what anyone else tells you to like. I'm not telling you to rush out and buy Spice Girls or Aqua singles; I am giving you my opinions on singles I buy each week, from a viewpoint of which ones I like or dislike. Agree or disagree by all means, but don't tell me what I should or shouldn't like. How "alternative" are you being then?

Greg. at 22:38:57 Thursday July 23 98
In return for your genial concession Rowan, I'll admitt it. Danny McNamara from Embrace is a right miserable twat.

Rowan at 22:7:2 Thursday July 23 98
You could look at it like that but...

Greg at 22:5:27 Thursday July 23 98
Keith's choice was the alternative to what an atypical alternative music fan would expect him to choose. Thus making it extra alternative. You should all be happy.

Rowan at 18:13:45 Thursday July 23 98
seems everyone suddenly wants to be Anon. Kerrang is overpriced to. Keith back to the 'spice girls getting single of the week' issue. You can't go around calling yourself the uk based alternative e-zine (or what ever) and give sg sotw. You just can't. Well, you can I suppose BUT IT'S NOT RIGHT!

Andy at 9:23:17 Thursday July 23 98
oops, that was me 'off on one' about kerrang.

Anon at 9:22:56 Thursday July 23 98
Kerrang is a pretty poor mag that has a fixation with american metal bands like coal chamber, deftones, fear factory & marilyn manson. all these bands are shit. kerrang steadfastly ignores young & talented british rock & punk bands, apart from one or two such as A & midget. and also symposium (but they are not talented. any more) if the mag dropped its addiction to shite american trash and began giving exposure to more deserving brit bands, it'd be damn fine, but as it stands its bollox.

Greg. at 22:9:17 Wednesday July 22 98
NME reviewers can be such bastards for the sake of it when they don't immediately take to a single. See review for The Supernaturals single, which is actually quite good.

Greg. at 22:7:46 Wednesday July 22 98
sorry Anon was me, Greg, just too lazy to type 'Greg' What is Kerrang like btw????

Rowan at 18:12:52 Wednesday July 22 98
Anon> have you been writing letters to Kerrang and NME and melody maker?

Anon at 20:35:53 Tuesday July 21 98
And I mean that in a 100% non ironic, non indie snobbish ladi da way.

Greg. at 20:34:52 Tuesday July 21 98
Oh, and the girl singer from Aqua is a babe, too!!!!

HeadCleaner (a bit calmer now) at 13:54:29 Tuesday July 21 98
As well as alternative stuff, I like pop music also...It does tend to rub folk up the wrong way, much like letters in the weekly music papers after they stick All Saints/Robbie/whoever on the cover. I'm the first to admit I'll veer towards the more populist side of alternative (i.e. towards the charts, as opposed towards the likes of Fierce Panda), but a good song should be recognised as such wherever it comes from. And sometimes the bulk of the indie stuff gets so samey, unexciting and pretentious that the likes of Aqua are a breath of fresh air.

Andy at 13:46:56 Tuesday July 21 98
ok, so i ,erm, overlooked the fact that you did review a wide range of stuff this week. i was just in a state of bafflement as to why the Spice & Aqua stuff was reviewed, but never mind. i co-run an on-linereviews page too, and sometimes people whine at me. i wanted to try it from the other side of the fence! too right about the beta band mind.

HeadCleaner (worked up now) at 12:36:35 Tuesday July 21 98
Besides, I reviewed Harvey Danger and The Beta Band anyway - surely that's potentially giving people those pointers you speak of. The bottom line is "Viva Forever" is a good song, done well; "Push It Out" is the opposite. Jesus, I dunno...I buy all these singles each week, review them, charge you nowt for reading them, and still you tell me what to do...I'm off to sulk now.

HeadCleaner at 11:45:54 Tuesday July 21 98
The point is I thought they were the best songs on offer this week. If I wanted to give people a pointer to things they knew less about, I'd review the busker that wails out Oasis covers in the street outside. However, he - like a vast amount of "obscure", "experimental" stuff out there - is shite. The Spice Girls and Aqua are not, and are VASTLY superior to tedious nonsense like The Beta Band.

Andy at 10:28:30 Tuesday July 21 98
ok, i want to, but i won't knock giving the spice girls & aqua good grades - reviews are 100% opinion after all. but i will say: whats the point? what is the point of reviewing something that anyone can hear on their local radio station 24 hours a day? people are gonna know whether if like the spice girls & aqua already. why not give them a pointer for something that they know less about, but are inspired to go out and buy because you compare it to something they already like? still, i was glad to see the review for the more obscure harvey danger single, even if i do think its pretty damn cool and you don't.

GREG at 22:56:4 Monday July 20 98
You're right Rowan, theyn WERE live otherwise how could the bloody harmonies be out of tune. It was the Supernaturals on fully booked who mimed. ok ok I was hung over, the t.v. was on? Stop looking at me strangely?????!!!????

Rowan at 20:39:13 Monday July 20 98
Keith, I won't mention the singles reviews. Why didn't you you review the llama farmers one? Anyway, everyone catch the new manics single? I wish it was more like the holy bible. It;s so polished...but it didn't really hit me first time. Maybe a few more listens will do it.

Rowan at 21:13:49 Sunday July 19 98
I've heard the llama farmers single on the radio and I'm sure the harmonies sound better than they did on the mag ( know, me aswell). Are you sure they were miming? I think they're pretty cool...

Somebody who supported The Pecadiloes assures me that Kirstens beach is about somebody in Kula Shaker???? Is there somebody in KS called that? I've certainly decided I don't like the Pecadiloes. Oh BTW Guy asks me to inform you that he's left college and no longer has access to the web, whe he does he'll come back to say alright and update his fanzine replentent with a kind Mantra demo tape review. Even if he did say we sound ,amongst others, a bit like PrESidents of the USA ???????

Yes indeedy, Lauren and Marie are fancy, are they not? Llama Farmers were good when I saw them live, and I wanted to go talk them but my pissed friend was lying on the floor going "I'm going to sleep now" so I couldn't. Bollocks.

Well if I'm honest most of the reson why I dig Kenickie is becasuse of Laverene and DuSantiago. Incidentally who caught Llama farmers on c5's the mag(I know sorry) they were awful. I hope we don't look as bad miming as they did, I can only cross my fingers that I didn't move away from the mike in the chorus. Oh, and They were out of tune in the harmonies HA!!!!

There we have it. She only thinks he's a good singer because she thinks he's "as fit as f***". If he really was a good singer, would every magazine and journo under the sun slag him off at every oppertunity?

It's actually a Japanese name. It's pronounced mih-len (the i like in igloo) instead of My-leen. But anyway. Yes, Danny's voice is ace. When he sings live, he never drops a note or sings out of tune. He is something quite incredible. And he is fit as f***.

Sorry, Mylene Jenius sounds like a Dutch name.

I'm sorry to have to get involved beacuse he does seem to have an Liam type attitude he posseses a rich, strong voice which I believe has character. My mates, particulalry our leadsinger disagree and think it's just shit.
