Hi ho everyone, me again. I will try to keep up from now on. BTW Keith, you'll be pleased to know that 'when i argue...' went in the charts at number
19. I'm still waiting for the day and Idlewild single goes top 10 so that Dr 'wanker' Fox is forced to play it on Capital FM (for those of you out of london,
capital's chart is based on airplay and sales figures, apart from the top 10 which is the real top 10).
BTW, I may have said this before but you gys should really really really check out seafood - don't get them confused with Seafruit (who have a shite single out at the moment)
Seafood really are something quite spectacular, not least because they usually manage to fit about 3 or 4 tunes into each song - surely a mark of a great band - this and the fact that the singer often resorts to playing his guitar with
a screwdriver during the feedback climaxs of many of the songs.
Anyway, good night.

WHAAAT?!?! SilverSun are splitting up?!?! Say it ain't so, Guy!!
Steps are great though. That is true.
And by the way, I linked HeadCleane from my site. http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Venue/4110
VISIT IT! haha
Jonathan Donaghue at 20:17:16 Wednesday February 24 99
Cool site.
Greg. at 20:15:34 Wednesday February 24 99
Woah, now I'm sorry but Jason Pierce's grand masterplan of cool guitar's droning, and a gospel choir is not that bad. 'Dead from the waist down' by Catatonia is not alf bad, 'make hay not war!' Oh yeah, has anybody heard 'MY NAME IS' BY M&M. Oh it is funny. Guy nice one, enjoy the lifestyle! I will be soon too hopefully.
Guy at 0:2:37 Tuesday February 23 99
Keith, did you ever get the e-mail I sent you with my snail-mail address in it? And will you two behave yourselves? For God's sake I will pay CASH for this thing. If either of you do want to sell me the Lava CD, I will give you a couple of quid and postage and packaging. Let me know. You'll be happy to know it looks like their splitting up. And yes, Andrew Spiritulized ARE Shit. And hate to say it but Steps are brilliant. Yes I know I've changed my tune, but I'm a student now and I'm ALLOWED to like them. Just like pasta and staying in bed all day. Life is bliss...
andrew at 17:0:3 Friday February 19 99
hello jenni. what would you like to talk about? well, you can talk to me (noone mention the word seahorses of they get shot).
Jenni at 16:7:1 Friday February 19 99
I want to talk to somebody.
Boo Hoo...
Sob Sob
HeadCleaner at 6:5:6 Thursday February 18 99
I might not be a fan of B&S's music, but at least their indie hearts are in the right place - unlike the rest of the Brit Establishment (Robbie, Natalie, Fatboy, even the Manics...) Hell, Belle & Sebastian apart, the most innovative part of the Brits was the Smash Hits brigade's Abba tribute. Some day a rain's gonna fall...
andrew at 22:20:55 Tuesday February 16 99
i mean, someone thump me if i'm making things up, but...belle & sebastian won a brit award? what the f--k is going on? how did radio 1 listerners manage to vote for them above steps? maybe they're all more intelligent than anyone thought...
andrew at 19:50:1 Tuesday February 16 99
i'll get me coat.
Mylene Jenius at 19:36:15 Tuesday February 16 99
Nick, you're a genius. Your opinions are all totally right. Maybe you should start your own fanzine (circulation one, i.e. me). Mercury Rev are cack and Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Being Boring In Space is shite also. Nick is king.
HeadCleaner at 20:47:31 Monday February 15 99
I could be more annoying still, and say Spacemen 3 were better...and even then, only really Revolution. Sorry about the single reviews delay. Didn't get the chance to go to the shops today - they'll be up tomorrow.
andrew at 18:24:24 Monday February 15 99
hmm. does anyone on this board like spiritualized at all? i could be really annoying and say "the older stuff is better"...'tis true though.
Nick at 15:20:54 Monday February 15 99
I bought the Spiritualized album last year after the NME made it no.1 - last time
I ever trust the NME as by and large it is pants, except for about 2 songs. And one of them
is too long. Comparing the new Blur is single to them is unfair. Tender is fifty times as good as
anything Spiritualized have ever done. PS Mercury Rev are cack.
andrew at 11:10:55 Friday February 12 99
damn.
HeadCleaner at 6:37:4 Friday February 12 99
Ok, I'll sell it for 20p...which means you owe Guy 30 pence, Andrew.
andrew at 22:29:16 Thursday February 11 99
guy - the offspring are terrible, their new single is even worse than the last one. spiritualized are wonderful. gay dad is a great name for a band, but their song is utter cack. just to put you straight (; oh, i've got the original silver sun CD of 'lava' too, mint condition and all...you mean you're willing to pay for it? i didn't think i'd find anyone who i could *give* it to. maybe we should start a price bidding war sort of thing (i'll lower keith's price by 50p for starters). or maybe not...
Greg. at 19:15:54 Wednesday February 10 99
Does anybody listen to Chris Moyles on Radio one, his show is hilarious. Especially the almost too-funny-to be true 'Dave the photpgrapher' who regularly sings along to 'girls on film.' He's sexist, crude and unashamed of hsi impressive girth! Punk radio.
Guy at 11:34:0 Wednesday February 10 99
aaaaaaaaaaaaagggggghhhhhhhh!!! I didn't realise you had the original release of 'Lava' by Silver Sun! Name your price! It's the only Silver Sun single I haven't got!
Guy at 11:25:48 Wednesday February 10 99
Hi everyone. Long time no see. The Offspring- the best No1 in a long time! New Blur single- gonna be the best number one in a long time. Don't like the Spiritulized comparisons though, 'cos there's one major difference- Spiritualized are shite. Gay Dad- awful name, decent enough song. Is the britpop era of 1996 coming back? God I hope not.
HeadCleaner at 9:40:46 Monday February 8 99
HeadCleaner is on holiday today - single reviews up tomorrow
Anon at 16:58:52 Thursday February 4 99
Cheers Andrew, I think I will.
andrew at 19:53:2 Tuesday February 2 99
deserter's songs - good, but not quite as good as everyone has said it is. it's got 11 tracks, but 3 of them are crap instrumentals; if you ignore them, the other 8 are all pretty much superb. the opening three songs are all brilliant, 'goddess on a hiway' is ace, obviously, and 'the funny bird' is a spectacular soundscape. put it this way, if you liked 'delta sun,' out of the 8 decent tracks, it's probably the worst of the lot, which is quite a compliment. so yeah, buy it, prepare to: initially be a bit sceptical, then a couple of listens later be blown away, then a few more listens later to get a bit tired of it. but it's worth it.
HeadCleaner at 9:25:42 Tuesday February 2 99
Penetrate away - this isn't private at all, even though it is mainly frequented by a hardcore group of people. Yes, the Blur LP should be well worth waiting for. Stereophonics and Suede should also be worth a look...
Dusty at 22:38:48 Monday February 1 99
Hi.. I'm sorry to penetrate your little private message exchanging thing, it's quite nice... but i just wanted to say the new Blur single is brilliant. I was taken by surprise. Very well done. I also heard a new Orbital track this weekend and it was great. These are two of the bands that'll make the best albums this year. Definitely. The others? dEUS, Pavement, Chemicals, Supergrass and, of course, the divine Radiohead (if they do it this year...).
Great job you're doing here. Cheers!
Greg, again. at 20:48:32 Monday February 1 99
BTW Who saw Sebadoh on top of the pops? The most un totp moment you could get. ending in all out distortion. I liked. I'm thinking of buying 'Deserters Songs' anybody got it??
Greg. at 20:41:26 Monday February 1 99
'Tender' is fantastic. Spiritualised leanings but still unmistakably Blur. Barenaked Ladies deserve to do well with 'One week' it's a catchy tune.
andrew at 0:9:0 Saturday January 30 99
new blur single - how good? it's a bit of a winner. nice drums. excellent tune. shame about the length (should be 2 minutes shorter) but otherwise, you can barely fault it.
HeadCleaner at 18:46:52 Tuesday January 26 99
And a pretty Garbage picture in Vision On - don't say I'm not good to you...
Mylene Jenius at 18:29:17 Tuesday January 26 99
Garbage Single Of The Week. Nice one.
HeadCleaner at 19:44:41 Monday January 25 99
I got it wrong - I'm going out tomorrow. Hence, the sober single reviews you have this week. One week I shall do them under the influence for a laugh (hoho)
HeadCleaner at 8:43:16 Monday January 25 99
Actually, come to think of it, that might make them better than they usually are...
HeadCleaner at 8:42:46 Monday January 25 99
Today's single reviews will likely be delayed until Tuesday at the earliest, unless I decide to do them tonight after being at the pub after work...
Mylene Jenius at 19:33:50 Sunday January 24 99
I can't believe that Offspring are number one. That song is awful.
Pete at 0:22:43 Tuesday January 19 99
Does anyone have any rare Pixies albums?? They have a shitload of promos, bootlegs, and the like. If anyone has any CDs with unreleased tracks or alternate versions of songs, email me and maybe we could work out a trade. I'd pay for copies as well. Just email me. Later-
Greg. at 19:39:24 Monday January 18 99
Yeah Baby!! Saw Sebadoh play in Liverpool last night. Fantastic, the last thing you'd expected from them is a motown tinged, stomper but 'Flame' is! and it rocks. Just don't call Lou Barlow a 'poor man's Lou Reed' as one heckler did. Cue an impromptu thrash number charminlgy entitled 'Fuck Lou Reed.'
Rowan (he's alive!!) at 16:36:18 Sunday January 17 99
I have London's Calling. that's it.
Greg. at 19:38:41 Thursday January 14 99
Cheers Keith, I'll be buying London's calling. I've since heard two more songs 'Bank robber' and 'Spanish bombs' all ace. The way punk should be!! I'm more an NHL (Wayne Gretzky hockey) guy on the n64 (it's my little brothers..honest!!).
HeadCleaner at 19:30:33 Wednesday January 13 99
If there's one thing I like, it's lickers leaping out of windows...I've played the first Resident Evil game on the Playstation and found that to be a slightly pant-filling experience. Scary games are great.
Mylene Jenius at 18:5:40 Wednesday January 13 99
Has anyone here played Resident Evil 2? If so, did you find it the most crap-scary experience of your life?! Lickers leaping out of windows is raising my heart rate dramatically...but I do have a tiny child's plastic toy of the funky beasts!
PS - Guy, you are a lucky bastaaard.
Guy at 9:46:1 Wednesday January 13 99
Sorry Keith. This is the address you want. Just bought the Fun Lovin' Crim's first album- it's fantastic. Also bought Kylie's self-titled album which is pretty good. Got the "Sun EP" (Silver Sun's debut offering) and it's a cracking musical masterpiece. Got tickets for the Stereophonics at Leicester De Montfort Hall in April. This gig's over 5 times the size of the last one- it's gonna be Excellent!
HeadCleaner at 8:2:50 Wednesday January 13 99
I of course meant the London Calling double LP. London's Burning was a song of the first LP..!
HeadCleaner at 6:28:58 Wednesday January 13 99
There ends today's history lesson...
HeadCleaner at 6:28:29 Wednesday January 13 99
Punk and reggae was what the Clash did...that and the whole 2-Tone ska thing were the most interesting things to happen to punk after the first year or so. Whilst some bands refused to let punk evolve, bands like The Clash (and the ska crews like The Specials and The Selecter) took the attitude and married it with more cosompolitan sounds to produce something that was just as vital - and almost as influential. US bands like Rancid learned a lot from The Clash.
HeadCleaner at 6:24:44 Wednesday January 13 99
Heavens, I envy you hearing that for the first time. It's off the London's Burning double LP. Seek and enjoy. (The first eponymous LP and Give Em Enough Rope are class too)
Greg. at 17:32:9 Tuesday January 12 99
I just heard a Clash song called 'Rudie can't fail' which was fantastic. A cool merge of punk and reggae.
Greg. at 13:37:31 Sunday January 10 99
I couldn't sleep last night, due to my deliberations. Whose better 5ive (fresh, funky, new) or 911 (alarmingly un-fresh, eighties pop based, boys next door but one types??) Oh, why, why, do I have a conscience???????
HeadCleaner at 23:51:40 Friday January 8 99
I have 2 words to say - and they are "Powerpuff Girls".
HeadCleaner at 13:25:32 Friday January 8 99
Guy - send me your email address - the one I have for you bounced.
Greg. at 19:6:3 Thursday January 7 99
If you're depressed I'm not sure the Manics are gonna life you out of it.
Ingo at 9:7:23 Thursday January 7 99
I think "Black dog on my shoulder" is one of the strongest songs on the whole Manics' LP.
The combination of such a sad topic like depression with one of the happiest tunes on the album
sends shivers down my spine. It's a picture of total resignation, the acceptance of this state of mind, leaving no way out.
This song doesn't get out of mind. Brilliant!
HeadCleaner at 6:11:0 Thursday January 7 99
It'd probably be a better song if it was about owning a whippet, mind.
Tale at 0:39:31 Thursday January 7 99
Contrary to your review, the Manic Street Preachers' song "Black dog on my shoulder" is not about the pros and cons of pet ownership.
It refers to "Churchill's black dog" affecting the writer -- Winston Churchill described his depression as a "black dog".
HeadCleaner at 22:15:35 Wednesday January 6 99
Aw shucks, Greg - you say the nicest things (that ten quid's in the post). Ingo - about 50ish people voted, which meant that some bands/songs with only 1 or 2 votes still managed to do well. Most of the ones that came top in each category got at least 5 votes however.
Ingo at 16:59:29 Wednesday January 6 99
Just one question regarding the end of year poll. How many voters participated in the poll?
I voted in 6 categories of 11, and 5 times I hit the first position and once the third.
First I thought there must have been only 10 people voting in the poll, or do I just have such a mainstream taste in music?
I'm just a little bit confused!
Greg O'Keeffe at 16:11:2 Wednesday January 6 99
Cheers Danny, good luck for '99. Read the end of year poll with interest. Mansun album of the year!! Noooooo! Oh well. Sean Lennon's new song is cool. Happy new year to all my pals at Headcleaner. AND A BIG THANKS TO KEITH (scmaltzy I know) for maintaining the site, pretty much singlehandedly, and for nought. Nice to know it's a hit with would-be indie stars as well. Just in case Billie ever drops in my e-mail address is: 1001255, 2555.
andrew at 23:51:12 Tuesday January 5 99
do i get to be extra cool and say "i liked ooberman before they released 'shorley wall' and i have their first 7" and i spent an hour walking round croydon looking for the shorley wall EP the first time it came out and found one of the vinyl copies?" no? fair enough, always good to show off though. looking forward to the interview when it comes...p.s. 'xo' by elliott smith is a great album; if you like 'waltz #2' you should listen to 'waltz #1' which is even better.
HeadCleaner at 6:9:28 Tuesday January 5 99
Guess that's the first interview of 99 sorted out...cheers Danny - I'll be in touch.
danny pop at 0:51:42 Tuesday January 5 99

danny pop at 0:19:48 Tuesday January 5 99
Message to Greg on noticeboard (back in April). I'm in the band Ooberman, and it was funny to see someone talking about us. Lucky you were saying good things. Can't stand bad reviews. Hello and visit our Website everyone>>>> www.ooberman.com
Greg O'Keeffe. at 20:13:13 Sunday January 3 99
I'm a little dissapointed to see Elliott Smith's 'Ballad of big nothing' or 'Waltz #2' overlooked in the best of's! But nevermind. BTW Swing music will eventually make it's comeback on these shores, and it's ace. Almost as cool as rock. The big orchestra behind you, jazz horn section, understated drums. Oh yeah!
Mylene Jenius at 15:31:29 Sunday January 3 99
Meow! Why not? I am a very feline person :)
HeadCleaner at 14:22:40 Sunday January 3 99
Now Mylene's exactly the kind of person this zine caters for - a fan of alternative music with more than a little liking for shiny pop too. Not sure about the cat ears, mind...
Mylene at 12:13:32 Sunday January 3 99
Bartender and the Thief is great, I listened to it a few minutes ago. Another ace band is B*Witched - what an album!! I'm still wearing the cat ears, so must go catch some mice...
Carlos the Jackal at 19:50:49 Friday January 1 99
Festive greetings (somewhat delayed) to Keith and all
at Headcleaner and THE CLEANERS...from the lads and lasses
of BLOCO VOMIT. Roll on the next Wilkie House gig!
Guy at 1:9:52 Thursday December 31 98
I worry about you lot sometimes... However- relief when I see you re-think about The Bartender and the Theif. Nice One!
Mylene AKA Tigers-Eye Feline at 19:50:19 Wednesday December 30 98
Oooh, Step One is genius. I love This Heart Will Love Agin (or whatever they're all called, I have no track listing as it's copied) and Experienced is pretty ace too, but pervy. Which is good, obviously. I have cat ears on, so I'm gonna go swish my feline tail elsewhere...
HeadCleaner at 18:18:25 Sunday December 27 98
I think we're all united in our Steps appreciation society...I gave my other half the Step One LP for Christmas and it ain't been off the hifi since...
Guy at 16:55:3 Sunday December 27 98
Doh! Merry Christmas all.
Mylene at 16:10:5 Sunday December 27 98
Greg, Steps are, indeed, ace.
Greg at 12:59:22 Saturday December 26 98
Merry Christmas to you all, heres to boxing day! More beer, more food, more sleep! It's the most wonderful time of the year! Mylene, Steps are ace.
Mylene the Xmas elf at 16:39:16 Friday December 25 98
Merry Xmas, muso terrors. :) *Mylene shows off her new modem proudly* I now own a Steps video, which is great, plus a Young Person's Guide album - YES! It's fookin' great, I tell you, and has Martin the Marmoset's theme on it. Greeeeeeeeat.
HeadCleaner at 8:59:33 Friday December 25 98
Merry Christmas!
Anon at 22:19:49 Monday December 21 98
btw look out for the latest limited edition single by indie stalwarts Boyzone. I think it's called 'I love the way you love me.' Clever hey! I bet thats meant to be an ironic title really.
Anon at 22:17:17 Monday December 21 98
Keep the faith bro, Those Spice girls will make it big yet. And just think we liked them BEFORE anybody else.
Greg. at 22:14:42 Monday December 21 98
Oh you were being ironic. Tut tut. Pitty about Wrekked train though. Now both your fave groups are missing a member. ALAS.
Greg. at 22:13:17 Monday December 21 98
But hang on Alternative music bloke!! It seems to be you've got the wrong end of the stick! Because actually, The Spice girls are really popular and mainstream, wheras Lo Fidelity allstars are also really good but not as popular. Doh.
Guy at 17:45:37 Saturday December 19 98
That new Southpark album is cool. And believe it or not it actually has some musical weight too. The tracks by Rancid, Puffy/Mace/L'il Kim, Elton John, and others are all decent songs. Bargain!
-andrew- at 17:6:53 Saturday December 19 98
oooh, "alternative music fan," get YOU! ha ha, you're really funny! well done on a hilarious comment! next time you post here, take your head from up your arse first. ta.
HeadCleaner at 8:35:10 Friday December 18 98
Thanks AMF, it's people like you that make this job worthwhile...
Alternative Music Fan at 0:2:12 Friday December 18 98
I've just found your "Alternative Music Webzine". It's nice to see that you're supporting new up-and-coming bands who are as far out of the mainstream as the Spice Girls. Until I saw their latest record as your "Single of the Week", it seemed like I was the only person to have heard of them. Now finally they are getting some recognition, albeit only from alternative music fans like us. For far too long, we have just been hearing about popular bands like the Lo Fidelity Allstars, who get far too much publicity. Keep up the good work.
Greg. at 20:43:58 Thursday December 17 98
On a lighter note tunes that I've enjoyed lately include 'Praise you' by Fatboy Slim and 'Mystery man' by Ten Benson. Oh and that cool mix of 'Tequila' bt Terrorvision of all people, that should be big!!!!
Greg. at 20:40:37 Monday December 14 98
At the end of the day, one can admire the Manics bold pricipals, dig their music, empathise with their bleak requiems when at low ebb but none of us can ever be in the band. Therefore, their music, as every band's has to be a lifestyle accesory. If you try to 'live it' you end up like those sad Nirvana fans who use one mans doomed, poignant drug fuelled downfall as an excuse to walk around feigning gloom, and avoid their own problems. Music is therapeutic. Without wanting to sound hippyshite, let music heal you, uplift you. Who wants to be Richey Edwards? Suicide is the second cause of death amongst young men. Had to get that off my chest.
Jake at 8:20:54 Monday December 14 98
There is an amazing new band from an Australian band who have made one of the best pop albums of the last three or four years!!! The act is called The Orange Humble Band and it's members include....
The Posies Ken Stringfellow, Former Lemonhead Bill Gibson, early R.E.M producer Mitch Easter and Ex Someloves and Lime Spiders member Daryl mather.
Anyway out there heard it? If you haven't I suggest you go out of your way and buy it wherever you can!!!!!!!!

Well, I NEVER thought that this would happen, but I've gone and fallen for Belle & Sebastian. 'Just a modern rock song' is a brilliant track; all smoky brass, strummed acoustics and YES A CHORUS! Prettry fine intelligent lyrics too. I've been watching Young Persons guide.. and it's quite good, they're songs aren't awful either.
HeadCleaner at 0:9:51 Saturday December 12 98
Ah, but were they chocolate salty balls...?
Mylene at 23:33:11 Friday December 11 98
Well, I'm sure Electrasy were better than those boring old fools. I have the set list for the support band and Electrasy and I winked at the singers all night, and got told by Ali to lick his balls. Charming young man. It was foooookin' ace....
Now I'm going to bed.

At last somebody else has heard of Elliott Smith, nice one Guy. His Manchester gig was cancelled tonight unfortunately. Been listening to 'What's going on?' by Marvin Gaye. It is just brilliant.
HeadCleaner at 14:21:34 Wednesday December 2 98
Nice video department though. Agreed, Fopp and Avalanche are better - but more hassle to get to on a Monday lunchtime...
Steven Hopkins at 13:54:56 Wednesday December 2 98
See that new HMV in Edinburgh. It's shit. Independents like Fopp are 10 times as good.

In your 'end of the year poll', is it necessary to vote in all categories, or can I leave any of them blank? I don't know any UK shows, so I can't vote in that category.
Rowan at 22:42:4 Wednesday November 25 98
The snow patrol album is amazing. The new silver sun single is honestly the most awful piece of pish i have ever heard. Really.
Greg. at 18:45:27 Wednesday November 25 98
BTW that was me, Why do people dislike Sivler sun? Theres plenty of other bands to dislike and give 1/10 out of. Anyway Weezer are better than Silver sun. I wanna check Snow Patrol out, has anyobdy heard the superb 'Waltz #2' by Elliott Smith yet?
Anon at 18:20:12 Wednesday November 25 98
Oh Silver sun can't be any good because they're catchy, and good rock music has to be indeipherable Guy. tututut

HeadCleaner at 14:4:53 Friday November 20 98
You mean...you mean you'd not got us bookmarked???
andy m at 14:3:21 Friday November 20 98
hohum, had forgotten this page existed. anyone wanting a treat, go see Braid on tour when they come here from chicago. emo...it's the only option... :o)
HeadCleaner at 13:58:35 Friday November 20 98
Please do so Guy - reviews are always welcome.
Guy at 13:13:7 Friday November 20 98
1 out of 10? 1 out of bloody 10? I shall never buy the NME again. Silver Sun deserve at least 9 out of 10 for the last album. Bloody music press... I'll forward to reviews to you soon Keith, some new ones I never put on TITF. Includes Gomez, Silver Sun, Theaudience, SFA and Warm Jets.
HeadCleaner at 9:19:20 Friday November 20 98
Pah...you find out who your real friends are at times like this, eh?! I'm still knackered after it - it was fun, but we sure ain't gonna make TOTP (or even Channel 852). Incidentally, the Idlewild website gets a mention in The List magazine (Central Scotland arts listings mag) this week - says it's a good comprehensive site.
Rowan at 22:12:27 Thursday November 19 98
Sorry Keith, Edinburghs a bit too much of a trek for me...how about putting some cleaners sound clips up? Got the snow patrol album and its amzingly brilliant.
HeadCleaner at 8:24:53 Wednesday November 18 98
Anyone with a spare evening to spend in Edinburgh - come along to Wilkie House and see RAF + The Cleaners live (supporting Bloco Vomit) - as featured in this week's NME gig listings!
Greg O'Keeffe. at 20:50:36 Tuesday November 17 98
Hey hey! You heard it here first, 'Ooh la la' by The Wiseguys is the big beat sinlge of the year, this'd make Norman Cook jealous, it even has some old skool hip hop call response samples. MYLENE, did your sister get to see us in the Lomax? Any idea how unsigned bands get on channel 852 on Sky (you lucky lucky thing) Digital.
HeadCleaner at 15:11:8 Tuesday November 17 98
Apologies Ingo. I couldn't understand what they were singing, so I wasn't sure if they were taking themselves seriously or not! If they are not, then that's not so bad - that makes them quite cool in fact!
Ingo at 15:1:27 Tuesday November 17 98
>HeadCleaner: I don't quite agree with your view of Fettes Brot. They are no Boyzone wannabes but some late HipHopsters. Although I'm not into that kind of music, I have to admit that they are really amusing.
Okay, they can't sing, but they rarely try to. Their lyrics are absolutely ace, very intelligent and funny at the same time, which is a rare exception in that genre.

Rowan at 18:28:54 Monday November 16 98
Im not dead either...hehe. I'm wanting to get the grandaddy and snow patrol albums.
Mylene Jenius at 22:20:6 Friday November 13 98
Well, true, I am proud of my digital-ness but still it's worth getting Sky just for channel 852, my Christ is it good.
HeadCleaner at 15:1:43 Friday November 13 98
Didn't impress me, I'm afraid - sounded tired, old and unadventurous.
Guy at 14:51:19 Friday November 13 98
Think the stereo's review's a bit harsh Keith! I know it's not one of their better efforts but it shows a new musical direction and isn't anywhere near as bad as you made out.
HeadCleaner at 23:22:37 Thursday November 12 98
Pah, you're just boasting you've got digital telly...and that female in "Young Person's..." has the most annoying weegie accent in the world...! Welcome back, by the way.
Mylene Jenius at 18:41:49 Thursday November 12 98
2Young Person's Guide to Becoming A Rock Star" was ace and Jez is a fit fucker. Also channel 852 on Sky Digital is the best music channel ever - in 30 minutes today I saw Theaudience, Kenickie, Gene, Garbage, Rocket From The Crypt and several unsigned bands. WAAATCH IIIT!!
Greg. at 20:51:52 Wednesday November 11 98
Elliott Smith's album XO is definitely worth a listen, and I was also recently much impressed by a band from North Carolina called 'Jolene.' Think early REM, with histrionic vocals. BTW, I'm unashamed that when up early for work on Sat. I saw Hit miss or maybe, and enjoyed the new Puressence sinlge,a swooning acoustic number called, 'All I want.' Later.
Guy at 13:4:41 Wednesday November 11 98
I'm not dead. Honestly. The Imginatively Titled Fanzine is though (as if it wasn't predictable). I haven't got the time anymore. ahem. The new stereophonics single rocks. And Silver Sun's new album is the best in the world... ever.

I dunno...I've been voting at least 6 times a day since it started and nothing bad's happened yet...
andrew at 10:29:29 Saturday November 7 98
how many times can you vote for the same band in that Q magazine thing? just curious. you could click on it all day and it wouldn't say "oi! stop cheating!" but i dunno if it registers or not.
Greg. at 20:20:55 Wednesday November 4 98
Hey, Just thought I'd let you know that I got to hang out backstage with the mighty DelAmitri at their recent Liverpool gig. Body movin' is fantastic, esp. the Norman Cook remix. The Devlins are reputed to be good, anybody hear 'em?
Ingo at 11:6:22 Wednesday November 4 98
Hi there, it's a nice site you have. As bands from the UK are not overly popular over here (Berlin), it's hard to get some information.
The review section is great, although I rather stick to albums. The last ones I bought are from Mansun, Manic Street Preachers and Ash.
Bye.
HeadCleaner at 8:30:55 Wednesday November 4 98
Could I be so bold as to ask you all a favour? Please go to http://www.qonline.co.uk/starmaker98/voting.asp and vote for the band called The Cleaners. It would make an old man very happy...
HeadCleaner at 9:9:17 Tuesday November 3 98
The Idlewild LP is rather a good one...look out for a review soon...
Rowan at 19:37:44 Wednesday October 28 98
I probably would've got the new rem album, but i opted for the idlewild one instead, obviously :)
Greg. at 12:22:1 Wednesday October 28 98
My goodness, the new R.E.M. album is good. However 'At my most beautiful' is the modt obvious copy of Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys I've ever heard. Instrumentation, multi harmonies. Even the tune. Sue Brian, sue!!
HeadCleaner at 17:4:49 Tuesday October 27 98
Ha...now that IS scary..!!
Greg. at 16:5:53 Tuesday October 27 98
I like the new RFTC song 'Smash it up' it's got a lot of punky energy and a cool hummable tune, not as scary as 'victor' by The Cleaners though.
HeadCleaner at 14:24:16 Tuesday October 27 98
Still not been able to get to the shops yet - sorry...
Greg. at 21:32:18 Monday October 26 98
I've applied for Cardiff, what's it like?
Ritchie at 15:38:59 Monday October 26 98
I've just arrived at Uni and I like this it is good.
I like Rocket From the Crypt and Ultrasound.
Other people in Cardiff email me if you are clever
and don't smell much. Bye.
HeadCleaner at 12:37:20 Monday October 26 98
I know this is getting to be a depressing habit, but the single reviews this week will be delayed (I'm off work sick)
Greg. at 15:10:33 Saturday October 24 98
Haha did you speak to them? You glamourpuss. I propose a national memorial to the Simpsons instead of a millenium dome. It's the funniest.
HeadCleaner at 11:9:47 Friday October 23 98
Not very many people, it would appear. I'm just back from London - I was staying in the same hotel as 911...rubbing shoulders with the stars again...!
Anon at 20:30:26 Wednesday October 21 98
who remembers that extreme song?
HeadCleaner at 8:29:52 Monday October 19 98
I'm away on business this week until Friday, so unfortunately there will be no updates (including the single reviews) until the end of the week at the earliest.
