Q. 'XXX' looks very strange. Surely this is a mistake? Understanding the Technology

A. It probably is. Please let me know what you are seeing - joanne.roger@virgin.net. Tell me your 999x999 screen resolution setting, and the Browser software you are using and its version no. I test the website using my own version of the MS Explorer browser, and a version of Netscape we have. You are probably using something else, or another version to mine that I haven't tried testing the website with.

Q. Why can't I print this form/page?

A. A common problem with websites. Click on the page first. THEN print.
(Gives your software a kick up the backside, see? No, in fact the click identifies what you want to print. Don't click on the black bar on the left though, or you'll have just that bar printed out.)

Q. Must I always visit Kents '2 Helmets' Home page first?

A. No. You can either arrive straight at the News page, or the Juniors page.
If it's 'MS Explorer' you're using, just Go to our News page, or Juniors page. Click in the top right corner where it says ... 'Add this page to my FAVORITES'. If it's 'Netscape' you're using, 'Bookmark' http://web.ukonline.co.uk/kentfencing/newstart.htm
Next time you want to visit our site, you can your software's 'Favorites/Bookmark' button/menu, to come straight to that page directly.

Q. Everything seems very widely spaced across the page. Can't something be done about this?

A. Well now. Not everyone is lucky enough to have your high-spec screen resolution settings! Some people may only have small monitors. Some people may even be looking at this on a TV screen (only 544x378 resolution). Not to mention the increasing number of hand-held devices. And some people may not have such good eyesight. Often, such web surfers complain about websites that scroll off the side of their screen. But at Kent Fencing we try to cater for everyone, whatever their settings. (We also try to keep it suitable for any old browser in use, eg Netscape v2 or Explorer v3.) So if you have high-spec computer and visual equipment, just count yourself lucky. If you feel strongly about it, you can always change your 'View...Text size/Font' setting to something larger . You can also drag the bar sideways.

Q. I clicked on an interesting looking link. I got back a rather different looking page. To go back, I clicked on the 'home' button on that page, but then found myself on the homepage of a completely different website (?). Except that I still had the black-background Kent index options on screen!
I'm confused.

A. If a page comes up without the usual Kent page title on red, then you're already into another site. Even if the Kent index options are still on screen. So as soon as you clicked on our 'interesting looking link' you went into another site completely. Probably it was British Fencing because they have 'home' buttons all over the place. (We keep the Kent index options on screen in case you want to come back.) Anyway, you then clicked on that site's homepage link, which unfortunately did not clear the screen of the Kent index options.

aka.A. The stupid web designer has completely confused everyone by
(a) keeping the Kent index options on screen in the first place,
(b) not including an option to switch the damned thing off once you've wandered away somewhere else,
(c) not having a website style consistent enough to make it plain when you've gone to another site.
