I was born in Solihull Hospital in Warwickshire - as it was then its now West Midlands.
I left school at 16 and joined the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineering Mechanic. I changed my job to electronics after about 4 years and went on to serve almost 11.
I got married to Della in 1988, and we have 3 children Poppy, Jordan and Rosie.
We have been living in Okehampton, in mid-Devon, since October 2000. (See Church Section).
I suppose I'm an Engineer, I say suppose because my skills are varied. Electronics, Training, Computer hardware & software, Project Managing to name a few.
I'm interested in football and cricket and computers, but my main interest is my involvement in Church.

We are involved in a church called Inspiration, which is
part of the Church of The Nations group of Churches. There are C.O.T.N churches in the UK in London, Maidstone,
Camelford and Plymouth. Also worldwide there are C.T.O.N. churches in South Africa and the USA.
I have been involved in drama to demonstrate various points for church services. Its amazing how how something visual and dramatic can really effect someone or help them to understand a message.
Some famous geezer once said, "If music be the food of Love - I'll fill my face" or something like that !!
My favourite band at the moment are Delirious. A christian band who are superb. Check out the web sites listed in my LINKS table.
When I get some time I'll do some stuff about them myself.
My Wife and I are involved with a group called Positive Parenting. The idea is to encourage people to come together to share what's good and bad in their relationships with their children. Then from that point talk about how we can learn from other peoples mistakes and successes.
The full course is called "Time Out For Parents". It is designed for those who have never had any training, (most of us !), for the most challenging and important job they may ever do.
The aims of the course are:
To give vision and increase confidence.
To improve the relationship between parent and child.
To discuss strategies for common problems faced by parents.
To teach communication and listening skills.
To support parents, and give them an opportunity to make friends

I support Birmingham City and Warwickshire County Cricket Club. Yes I can hear your sympathy already. Anyway I have had some great times watching the Blues as well as frustrating times. At least Warwickshire win the odd trophy here and there !!! See my LINKS table for links to both teams plus generic sport links.
I have various other interests including computers, local history and the history of the industrial revolution.
