The Links Traditional Golf Course

Whenever I think of a links golf course it reminds me of the game's traditions and so it was while I was working on some holes for Troon, the idea came to me. In the early years the game started on reclaimed land from the sea, these were nearly always small narrow strips of land and they must have just placed a flag, or what ever, in a spot and selected a tee of position. Then simply said 'The one to the pin in the least shots wins', with players being left to choose their own route across the barren windswept land. So the idea came to me to try and recreate the modern equivalent of the old game.
