Links Golf by Access coursed quit stir when it was first released; it was often said that the graphics were so real you could almost be there. Which has basically always been the main design theme of the links series. From its early days the game pushed computer golfing to know limits. With these two main design goals the game has always had good press and sold well, infact better than any other golf game. The only main short coming of the series for many of us more dedicated golfers is the lack of course designer and the resultant limit in number of courses available. This being said Links has around two dozen courses available to play and is constantly adding to them. The current version available is Links 2000 and you can also still lay your hands on several other versions as well. Links 99, Links LS and Links 386. Microsoft Golf is also based on the game and added to this is an interesting recent twist with Microsoft purchasing Access and the links golf series.
