Name Geoff Desborough Name James Desborough
Nickname Prince Philip Nickname Village
Role Right Arm Off Spin Role Right Hand Bat
Pen Portrait Geoff mostly plays for the Sunday XI where he continues to add to a career wicket taking tally for the club that totals 875. This makes him Wyse's most successful bowler of all time. Also one of only two players to achieve the amazing feat of taking all 10 wickets in an innings (10 for 24 in 1982). Now a fixture in the ‘rest home’ that is the Cudham Wyse slip cordon.

James is carrying on the family tradition by establishing himself as a regular in the first XI. Unlike his father, however, he is an aggressive top order batsman who has scored some notable tons. One of these earned him the Bat & Ball Sports Kent Village League Batsman’s Award for 2000. A fearsome hitter of straight sixes, but also prone to over exuberance and getting out to shots that are distinctly ‘village’.

Name Simon Foister Name Jamie Gardner
Nickname   Nickname
Role Right Hand Bat & Occasional Spinner Role Right Arm Medium Pace
Pen Portrait Simon is a useful recent addition to the Cudham Wyse set up both as a reliable top order bat & end of innings spinner. His wife Yola is Cudham Wyse’s first ever female player and an occasional keeper with a unique approach. Pen Portrait Jamie has inherited his father’s relaxed approach & has even been known to ‘powernap’ during a game. A handy change bowler he often deceives batsmen with a combination of swing & ‘loop’. He is also no mug with the bat & often gets handy runs down the order for the Sunday side.
