Statement of Faith We believe the Bible is God's word. It is entirely true and trustworthy, and is the only authoritative source of Christian truth. There is only one God who reveals Himself in three different persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus Christ (the Son of God ) was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose from the dead, is alive today and will one day return as King of Kings. He will take all true believers to be with Him forever, whilst only judgement awaits those who reject Him. We have all sinned and fallen short of God's standards. The inevitable consequence of sin is eternal judgement. The Lord Jesus Christ has voluntarily endured judgement and death on our behalf and having broken the power of sin and death, now offers forgiveness and eternal life to all who receive Him by faith as their personal Saviour. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the various Ministry Gifts set in the church from the beginning are still God's plan for today and until Jesus returns. Baptism by immersion in water is the biblical pattern, symbolising the death and burial of the old life and the emergence of a brand new one. God heals sickness through prayer. Christians can live holy and righteous lives because of the power of the Holy Spirit who lives in them. The church which God is building comprises of all those who have been " born again" through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, irrespective of denomination or tradition. |
