For most couples these days, planning a wedding involves carefully balancing dreams, ideas and available finance. At Pavenham Park Golf Club we see no reason why working to a budget means giving up what you really want, and if that’s high standards and beautiful surroundings in a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere then you are already half way there. We believe these aspects play a major part in the success of a wedding and here at Pavenham Park they are just some of the areas we pride ourselves in.

With the cost of hiring the marquee at a highly competitive basic rate, catering and entertainment can be arranged to fit in with your ideas and budget. We have a wide range of high quality menus to choose from.

We firmly believe that you should control your special day, so we hold no hard and fast rules about the order of events or what you should or should not include. With the same principle, we feel it is important that we fit into and around your day, rather than you having to fit around us.

The Marquee

Purpose built for events such as wedding receptions, the marquee is 60’ x 40’ and fully lined. The interior itself offers a dreamy timeless quality, perfect either as it stands, or as a base to add any type of decoration that you may require. A calm and uplifting ambience is created by day as the natural light almost glows through the fluid shell, and by night it can be transformed by your choice of lighting.

For the daytime reception the marquee can comfortably accommodate any number of guests up to 165. This number can be increased for an evening party, when there is less table seating required. The marquee linings allow for a great deal of manipulation as they can be moved to section off corners of the marquee. This gives the flexibility to hold smaller dinners for around 35 people without losing any of the ambience. However, another option for the smaller occasion is the clubhouse itself, creating a more traditional feel.

The floor of the marquee is solid, carpeted throughout and has ample space for music and dancing. A full bar service is available inside. Large gas heaters can be used in the marquee on those chillier days and guests have full access to the toilet facilities in the golf clubhouse located alongside the marquee.

The Grounds

Pavenham Park is a 10 year old golf club set in grassland estate, fields and woodland dating back hundreds of years - superb for those all important wedding photo opportunities. Feel free to ask which are the most idyllic spots or let us take you on a buggy ride around the course so that you can choose.

The park boasts an interesting history. The field, which the 12th and 13th holes were built on was once owned by the Duke of Kent. Around 200 years ago he built a lodge there to store horses in and would regularly travel from Kimbolton Castle to visit his Mistress in Olney, stopping off to exchange tired horses for fresh ones at his Lodge!

Until 1960, the site boasted a Manor House. Sadly this was demolished before the Thompson family who own Pavenham Park Golf Club, bought the site. However, two 300-year-old Tudor Oaks still line the drive way and a third stands within the wooded copse by the 15th hole. Opposite, is the tallest tree on the course - a Diadora Redwood, all relics of a fascinating past.

Food and Drink

At Pavenham Park we are proud and delighted to offer the flexibility of superb cuisine. Whether you require a cold buffet or a seven course meal, our head chef will work with you to plan your dream menu at a price to suit your budget. Our food is not only exciting but exceptionally good value for money too! Along with our whole philosophy at Pavenham Park, the chef believes that it is your day, and will do whatever possible to provide food of your choice.

We offer a good selection of wines, with house wines starting from around £9 per bottle. However, we offer a corkage facility where you are most welcome to bring along your own wines for the reception.These can be stored and chilled in preparation and a corkage fee of £3.50 per bottle is charged. Alternatively we can arrange for wine to be served by the glass to your guests, included in the price per head for food and Champagne can be included in the same way. If the weather is fine reception drinks can be served outside the marquee as the guests arrive.

Extras

We can provide ideas on just about anything you need for your special day. From small items such as cloth serviettes and napkin holders to balloon decorations, bands, and children’s entertainers.
