Taking the 'old' road much travelled by Wordsworth and Coleridge from RYDAL to DOVE COTTAGE and GRASMERE, we continue beside THIRLMERE and reach charming DERWENTWATER to pause at breath-taking SURPRISE VIEW and the world-famous ASHNESS BRIDGE.

Ascending the winding BORROWDALE VALLEY, we climb the awe-inspiring HONISTER PASS and drop to BUTTERMERE and the wilder CRUMMOCK WATER.

We continue over the NEWLANDS PASS by the waterfall at MOSS FORCE to KESWICK and halt at CASTLERIGG STONE CIRCLE (5000 Years old).We return through the VALE OF ST.JOHNS.
