Topsy and Turvy
Hello, we are Topsy and Turvy. We are mum and daughter although their is only about 6 months between us. We were farm cats and because we were so young Cats Protection took us into care because we were both pregnant. We had our kittens and helped each other to care for them all. Our kittens all went to new homes well over a year ago and we have been in care since then. We have been in care this long because we have been allowed to adjust to life in a domestic situation. We are now indoor cats and although still a bit timid we are fully domesticated. We still don't really like to be lifted and if we get our own home we may hide for a wee while. We will get used to you though. We just need someone who is happy to have us in the house and who is patient enough to allow us to come round in our own time. We are in no way scary or vicious, we are gentle and very playful. we love to play together and our foster mum says we are really kitten like. We feel it is time to find our permanent home now. If you are an experienced cat owner and you would like 2 very pretty kitties then call the branch. We are very good with other cats so even if you are looking to add to your brood then give us a call. We really need to find our own home now and make room for the other poor cats that are out there waiting to come into care.

If you have a home to share with us then please call 0845 371 4213

Abraham - remember me?
I was homed by Cats Protection 18 months ago to what I thought was my forever home. I am now back in care because my owner said I swiped a child outside.
Since coming into care I have been in an outdoor pen but my fosterer was going on holiday and his friend offered to cat-sit me. I was having a lovely time with my catsitter and his nieces and nephews. I didn't even want to go outside. Suddenly one day I woke up and couldn't wee. I tried and tried but it wasn't happening. Thankfully my sitter noticed really quickly and I got rushed to the vet. I was completely blocked with crystals and my bladder was full to bursting. After a few unsuccessful attempts by the vet to unblock me it was decided an emergency op was the only answer. The op is pretty much like a sex change as it involves taking away the little tube that urine comes out from. It gets folded back and stitched in place so that there is an opening that allows the urine to pass freely. I will now be on a special urinary diet that helps to stop the formation of crystals in the bladder.
August 2009 and vet declares me fit and well and ready to be re-homed.
Abraham would much love a female owner as he can be stand offish with men. He needs a home where he can go outside. He is not good with other cats and hates dogs. If Abe required any further treatment for his problem (he shouldn't do now he's had the op) then the Lanarkshire Branch would cover all costs.

NICKIE
I am a dark ginger tabby boy of 1 year old. I am very friendly and loving with adults. I would like a home where I will be loved and cuddled. I am still a little nervous of sudden noise and sudden movements but I am fine once I get to know that I am safe. I would like a nice home with a safe garden so I can go out in the good weather. I'm not sure of other cats so I would like to be an only cat.
If you think I'm the cat for you then please call. please phone 0845 371 4213

Tommy
Hello, Tommy here. I am in Cats Protection care because my owners put me into the vet and asked them to put me to sleep because I had bad skin. The vet told my owners that he would contact Cats Protection and instead ask them to take me in. Thankfully they did and I was given a reprieve from my death sentence. The vet examined me and in fact the reason my skin is bad is because I had a flea allergy. This has been treated and my skin should definitely heal up nicely. I am 4 years old and I have being neutered. I am very loving and I would love to find a new home where I will be loved and cared for. Tommy's foster mum says " Tommy is a sweetheart. Thank goodness the vet didn't act in haste and put him to sleep. Tommys' skin is fine now and with daily brushing his coat is starting look really good. He is a cuddly boy but a bit unsure of other cats. He is ready to go to a new home " If you would like to find out how I'm doing then call the branch. I'm ready to be re-homed.

October update:
New arrivals:
Vienna Female, Tess Female, Vari Female, Vern Male, Vespa Male and Vito Male.

We are hoping to home Vienna and Vito together and maybe Vespa and Vern.

Vienna (pictured above) is a cream coloured timid cat about 4 months old but she has be-friended the other newer kittens, especially the grey kitten (Vito) who is also a bit shy compared to the others.
So we hope Vienna & Vito can be re-homed together as a pair.

Pctured below, Vern is the black and white long haired one with white moustache
Vespa is the other black and white long haired kitten on the left.

Tess is the mother of the other kittens that are 12 weeks old, she is a great wee mum, she is very loving and she still lets the babies feed from her. She loves to sit up on worksurface in the kitchen and gaze out the window.  Tess is always ready for a cuddle.  Tess is young and vets thinks about 1 year old.

The other kittens are joyful and they are so playful.
Vito is the grey and white kitten
Vern is the black and white long haired one with white moustache
Vespa is the other black and white long haired one
Vari is the wee tiny black and white short haired one
Vienna the cream coloured kitten,  and Tess the black & white Mum (pictured below)

kittens Tosca and Toby.
Hi there, my name is Toby (I'm the one with just a little white smudge on my nose) and my brother is Tosca, he's got a lot more white on his face than I have. That's how out foster folk tell us apart. We were feral when we came to stay and really didn't like people very much as they frightened us. Since we have been here we have come to realise that people can really be very nice and we now both really love being stroked and occasionally we will curl up on a lap, but this is still a little daunting. When we get stroked, our foster mum says that we have the loudest purrs she's every heard!! We are now about 4months old and we feel that we are ready to settle down into a forever home.
We do like other cats, but we don't know about dogs and young children are kind of scary 'cos they move so fast, so ideally we would like a home where there are no young children.
Give the branch a call if you think you would like us to come and join your family.

They are little cuties with great personalities... hope the photographs do them justice. please call 0845 371 4213

Pictured right is
Wella
Hello, My name is Wella and I am an elderly little black and white lady. I was found limping and dragging my back leg. The person who rescued me thought I had been in a road traffic accident but after x-rays the vet discovered that I had an old injury and that I am quite athritic. I also have a cough that the vet thinks I have got from being outside in the cold and wet. I am currently being cared for by a lovely foster mum who will look after me until I am fit to go to a new home. I am currently on medication and will keep you up to date with how I'm doing. I am enjoying the luxury of having my very own bedroom in a warm cosy house.

We are Willow and Violet. We were found wandering and scrounging for food in Glassford. We have both had kittens who are now with fosterers and so now we are hopefully getting our strength back. I am quite confident with people but Violet is quite timid with them. Violet loves the company of other cats so we will hope to find a home together. I am tortie and white and Violet is a tortie tabby. We are both very pretty girls that need experienced cat owners to give us a home where we belong to someone instead of having to beg at different doors for food.
Violet now reserved for re-homing.

Hi I am Annalese and I came into care because I was a stray cat that was taken in by someone. I had 3 litters of kittens within 1 year and now I have to find a new home. Cats Protection have had me checked for FIV and FELV and I am clear. They have had me neutered so thankfully no more kittens. I am now with my lovely foster mum and I am getting stronger every day. I am looking for a new home where I will be loved and cared for. I am a sweet natured cat and love company. I am Tabby with white and am very pretty. I am around 3 years of age. If you would like to share your home with me then please do call.

Hiya Veejay and Vernon here. We are two 8 week old boys who are looking for a quiet home where we can continue to gain our confidence. We were born on a farm and were brought into Cats Protection care when we were 6 weeks. We love to run around and play and can be picked up and cuddled, but initially when someone comes near us we run and hide. We love toys and we love each other. Vernon is white and black and he is the most confident at the moment, I Veejay am black and I am still a bit timid. We cannot be homed until we are 9 weeks so hopefully by then we will be much more confident. If you have experience of shy cats and you would like to be our family then call now.

Below are 2 photo's of Wendy:
Hi my name is Wendy and I was a stray. When I came into Cat Protection care I was emaciated. I was starving. I was admitted to the vet and was left for a couple of weeks so that I could be built up a bit before being neutered. I have been with my foster mum for a few weeks now and I feel and look much better. I am still small and thin but I will gain weight. I will never be a big cat. I love attention and am looking for a home with no other cats. The reason is that I don't want to have to fight for my food. If I am an only cat I can eat at my own pace. I am friendly and would like a new home soon.
