Cats Protection - Lanarkshire Branch
|
|
Some cats prefer to remain outdoors, and no matter how much a cat lover tries to entice them into their home with the promise of food and a log fire, some cats just wish to remain feral.
In 2002, the 75th Anniversary of the Cat Protection charity, the Lanarkshire Branch launched its Cat Kennel Initiative to lend a helping hand to outdoor cats in our area.
The first of these was placed with in Mrs Blair's garden in East Kilbride - see picture on the right.
She had been feeding her feral cat for many months, and was delighted when Morag, the Branch Rescue Officer, delivered a Cat Kennel in January 2002.
So how can you help? We need volunteers to build Cat Kennels for us. If we supply the materials & plans, could you hammer a cat kennel together for us? Do you know someone who has spare time & likes building things? If building them sounds too tricky, then we could also do with donations of flooring & roofing felt. Do you know a builder or DIY enthusiast who could spare some suitable materials for us to use? Monetary donations
welcome also: as a guideline £3 donated could floor a Cat Kennel, £5
donated could roof one, or for a tenner you or your organisation could
sponsor a Cat Kennel.
