Hello all. I have just bought an LP in the local charity shop of the Orpington Junior Singers from the 70's. It was recorded in all Saints Parish Church, and has reference to Shiela Mossman. I have to admit, I have no interest in the music (!) but am keeping the LP as a piece of Orpington history, where I live. I do however have a little expertise in Computers and music transfer. This is a long winded way of saying, anyone out there that may have sung on/interested in this session, please email me with your address. At some time, (and it won't be for a few weeks as I have a poor dog dying slowly that I must care for) I will transfer it over onto a CD and scan in the cover and reverse as jpg's. I suppose I must add, I have no intention of charging either, CD's are pennies now, and once it's all converted, the long bit, I can duplicate as quick as anything. George Smith in Orpington

I was a member of OJS in the early 80s (and went on to become a professional opera singer- thanks to Miss Bell) I would love to be in touch with her. Can anyone help?

Hello Ann. I certainly remember you - also as a patient piano teacher ... I am living in the Netherlands following a posting here to the Embassy and am now taking a career break to be a full time mother to Peter (6) and Steven (4). I have fond memories of OJS, and was sorry not to make the reunion - was too pregnant with Steven at the time! Glad to know that all is well with you, and good luck with the new career.

Yes, I remember you - I was mostly friends with Simone and later with another third, Susan Bradley (the one who pinched Mr. Brown's hat in Norway (1973, I think)! So you ended up in Australia, Sue? How nice! England seems to get more humid and stuffy every summer. I'd like to emigrate to NZ myself.

Having found this web site down here in Australia I'm hoping someone will remember me. I was a member of the O.J.S from approx 1966 to 1972. Several names spring to mind -Simone,Maggie,Jill. Carole And Trish(both school friends)Susan and Sharon to name a few. I have lived in Melbourne,Australia since getting married in 1989 and have 2 girls aged9 and7,both girls enjoy their music with school choirs, piano and violin lessons. I too still enjoy to sing when no one is around. m

How stange to have come across this website! Of course I remember you Ann, but I didn't last as long nor was I as musical. I think we were guinea pigs together. I was a "third", probably closest to Alison Chandler and Karen Adams. I also remember Lorna Wormstone, Bridget Wilkinson?, Janet ?, and Susan Page. I moved to North London in 1976 and didn't keep in touch with anyone - did you?

Hi, I don't know whether anyone still contributes to this message board, but I was delighted to find a site dedicated to a choir that had such a strong influence in my life. I was a member from 1966 until 1976. I was choir pianist for quite a while under Susan Farrow mostly. A turbulent time; I remember the shock of Miss Mossman's death when I was thirteen. For anyone who remembers me, I trained at the Royal College of Music for three years, married a Local Authority surveyor and taught music for ten years, before giving birth to our daughter in 1989. Since then I have retrained as a graphic designer and have just graduated at the advanced age of 45. Anyone remember me?

Hi Christine. I'm sorry I can't remember you - but I expect I would if I saw you. It's a bit unexpected finding an OJS site isn't it? Not the sort of thing you think of searching for.

Wow..I just stumbled across this site! Hello Carol, I remember you from OJS in the early eighties. I'm sorry to have missed the reunion. I also cannot access all the links. It would be nice to see some photos!

Hi Laura Nice to see some OJS history. The link to photos doesn't seem to be working, but I'm quite glad, because my mum has a photo of me in the OJS that makes me cringe, so the last thing I want is stuff like that online. I'm know I know you but I can't really place your face. Remember me?

Feel free to use this board to make comments about the webpage, OJS, or anything music-related. It might be a good way to contact old friends.
