"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man" GBS

I am becoming more and more unreasonable with every year that passes.

"Culture or art is concerned with truth, it tries to show reality as it is. Politics wishes to change reality, it requires power, and thus it is primarily in the service of power...it is an open question whether intellectuals can ever play an active role in political life without becoming unfaithful to their main goal, which is truth." Vaclav Havel.

If one could only be sure of the truth in the time we live! And yet, does cynicism about all politicians make for a better world? Surely there are some who serve the truth and shame the devil?

"A work of art is never finished, merely abandoned" Paul Valery

I have yet to be sure that any of my plays have been finished. I remove my hand as if from a glove
puppet, and a play is dropped; it may be picked up
by actors or directors, but I pick It up again in the
end. My plays have all developed and changed
over time. The truth is, I worry that, once a
play Is produced, it is set in stone, whatever
its faults, and it is change that excites me
the most - the creative dynamic, not
perfection....
